Default CRYBABY MOVIE TRAILER: THE PEDAL THAT ROCKS THE WORLD

Guard House Pictures is proud to announce the trailer release of Cry Baby: The Pedal That Rocks the World, a definitive documentary that tells the story of the #1-selling effects pedal of all time, from its invention in 1966 through its evolution into the present day. The effect was an essential ingredient in the creation of classics like Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” and Guns ‘n’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine.”

This film looks at how engineer Brad Plunkett discovered and developed the legendary wah sound and how artists have used it to express themselves throughout its evolution. Guitar icons such as Buddy Guy, Eddie Van Halen, Kirk Hammett, Slash, and Zakk Wylde talk about how the wah has become a part of their signature sounds, while rock journalists such as Rolling Stone’s Ben Fong-Torres and Guitar Player’s Art Thompson explore the pedal’s cultural significance.

Learn how a simple effect became one of the most important tools of expression for guitarists everywhere. Full film coming in February 2011.

    Featuring:
    Eddie Van Halen
    Jerry Cantrell
    Slash
    Buddy Guy
    Kirk Hammett
    Zakk Wylde
    Dweezil Zappa
    Eddie Kramer
    Paul Gilbert
    Bob Bradshaw
    Brad Plunkett

I wonder if they asked Kirk Hammet "what is a bigger crutch? You on the wah or EVH on the sustainer?"

Ohhhhhh Ahhhhhhh The Signature, Highly Revered Wah tones of EVH featured almost exclusively on F.U.C.K.

I'll still be checking this movie out as it sounds pretty cool. Plus Ed's in it! I don't really get why he is in it, but whatever!

Kirk Hammet sucks...always did. The wah made him an even worse player.

For a guy that took lessons from Satriani, he must have done a lot of drugs during those lessons, because he obviously didn't learn shit from them.

And Ed's involvement is really funny. What has he used a wah on? Like 5 songs in 40 years? LOL.

Zakk doesn't use pinch harmonics as a crutch. It's part of his playing style. It might be a tad annoying and overused at times, but to call it a crutch is inaccurate, in my opinion as he is a more than capable player with or without the harmonics.

Ever heard him play on an acoustic? Take a listen and tell me where the crutch is?

No doubt. In the 80's it was cool cause they were so drunk and trashed, and thats all fund and ok. But now that they play sober shows and guess what, sounds the same. shiiiiity

Didn't Eddie use one on the solo to Cabo Wabo?

Eddie used a wah in 1976.
    @2:05

He also used one on "Eastern Block" in 1992.

Ok, we will just have to disagree, and I never said I don't think Zakk is a great player, because I do, but jeez dude, he wears pinch harmonics out on some songs.

A buddy and I at work will hear an Ozzy song on the radio with Zakk as the guitarist and start counting and laughing.

And yes, I have heard him play acoustic, and he is a stellar player.

But I think it is his crutch, in that when he doesn't know what to do while playing, he just puts in a pinch harmonic.

Just saying the guy has a crutch or a "go to" move doesn't make him any less of a player, just a point for conversation.
