Default Pics of Ed's various Rigs over the years

    http://funksheet.blogspot.com/2009/0...alen-gear.html

I don't know if this has made the round here before, but there are some really interesting shots in this link. Lots of typical DLR years pics, but there are some really nice ones of the 1986 rig, the FUCK rig, and the 2004 rig that I haven't seen before.

Who knew he had a plexiglass Wolfgang?

Also, look at all of those amps from 1986!!!!

yeah, i think it controls his rackmount chorus and reverb effect and if i remember correctly there's presets for Cathedral on there too.

the echo pro was in there for 'learning to see' which they only played a few times. other than that it wasn't even used.

lol, i hear ya. my main rig consists of a Diezel VH-4 a cable and a guitar, thats pretty much it when i play with my main band.
I will admitt though, that when im in the studio or playing in some of the other bands that i play in from time to time i use my Fractal Axe Fx Ultra and 50w Atomic Powered Wedges and perhaps the worlds biggest and most complicated floor controller!...lol

id imagine playing stadiums and such would require more gear. and from all the racks and amps youd think eds tone would be monstrous. but you hear so many people from 2004-2007 saying it was shrill and grainy.

Naw, you can play a stadium with a 5 watt miced up practice amp if you want. Most of the gear required to play a stadium is the house speaker system, and whether VH brought that themselves or not, it would be separate from Ed's guitar rig.

By the same token, if Ed decides to leave his wah on all the time in his somewhat 'simple' rig setup, that same crappy shrill sound will be distributed to the entire house speaker system and piped everywhere!
