Default "Fire in the hole" outro..

For an album that cops alot of crap, i gotta say, theres one little bit on this album I really love, and its the end of "Fire in the hole" where you hear Eddie doing the guitar outro. I just love it.
Its not a great song as a whole, but that little bit is constantly in my head of late.....
What is understood need not be discussed

"Dont disturb my paradise. I've asked you once. I've asked you nice" - "SERIOUS JU JU"

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977

Ed's playing and writing on III is underated.
Put Sam or Dave on vocals on that album and most people would sing a different tune of III. I am still surprised the WB or anyone let them replace Thats Why I Love You with Josephina...and the production lacked seriously, but I'm not embarassed to say that I like most of the songs...

I still can't believe that "That's Why I love You" hasn't found it's way onto a VH release in some form (Greatest Hits Package?). I still think that it's a perfect fit for Dave, with reworked lyrics, of course. It's a beautiful piece of music that is reminicient of old EVH! It kind of has a happy "Secrets" feel to it. Maybe they'll dig that out for the new album.

The outro to Fire in the Hole is one of the few bright spots for me on that album.

Yes the outro to that song is a gem. I think Year to the Day is terrific too, and I really like From Afar...in fact, there is a lot I like on VHIII, but the production was piss poor and the musical ideas are not arranged properly, too many long ass songs with not enough direction to them. With a proper producer and sound engineers, I think it would have made an awesome album. Eddie is an incredible musician, but VHIII proves that not even Eddie can do it all.

Yeah, the outro is really the only cool part of this rather boring VH tune. I was listening to III the other day and came to the conclusion that without the dinky guitar sound (and with balls out distortion ala FITH) Dirty Water Dog is a pretty awesome tune, couldve been a single had they went more balls out with it..."when heavy is the weight of the world!"
