So we're talking 1983 for me. The 5 VH albums are a given. Total obsession.

Other than those I was heavily into:

Triumph - Allied Forces and Never Surrender
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love and Shout At The Devil
    .
    .
    .
VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

I turned 15 in late 1978, so one would think the choice would be semi-obvious, but no, I didn't hear the first album until some time after the second one had been out. 15 was all about KISS for me. I got Double Platinum as a gift for my junior high graduation in the spring of 1978, then spent the rest of the year catching up to the rest of the world. Looking back at the way things unfolded for the band, it's kind of ironic to me!

    1989 for me.

All the Dave vh albums and 5150 were big for me. Ou812 was when they started to loose me.

    Otherwise...

Rolling Stones-Let it Bleed, Sly and The Family Stone- Fresh, and Scorpions-World Wide Live.

    Cool.

I picked the age 15 because it's right between adolescence and adulthood. For me it was the time that I quickly gave up buying 45 singles and started buying albums on a weekly basis with whatever money I had. (before beer and dope became a drain on the paper route money )

All my longtime friends still remember what a Cars freak I was back in the day and how I carried my boom box everywhere I went jamming Candy-O.

Highway To Hell and The Wall got a whole lot of miles on them too back in 1979-80

15 eh? hmmm It was 1990 for me, mourning the death of SRV. I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard it on TV.
    Favorites from 1990 though . . . Can't pick just one now.

Robert Plant - Manic Nirvana (loved this one)
    The Black Crowes - SYMM
    Bruce Dickinson - Tattooed Millionaire
Steve Vai - Passion and Warfare (lots of memories, lost my virginity to it.)
    AC/DC - The Razors Edge
    Testament - Souls of Black
    Traveling Wilburys - Vol 3
Tesla - 5 Man Acoustical Jam
    and many more

And being Canadian, all these acts had albums out around this time that I loved. Most of you won't know these, so I'll just list the artist.
    Tom Cochrane
    Jeff Healey
    Colin James
    Tragically Hip
    54-40
    Kim Mitchell
    Northern Pikes
    Cowboy Junkies
    Harem Scarem
    Blue Rodeo
    etc etc.

Great thread. Nothing like being 15 and passionate about music. 5150 just came out and was the be-all-end-all album for me. If I could have flown a 200ft x 200ft VH logo flag above my parents house back then and pledged daily allegiance to them, I would have. Non VH related... Dokken's Under Lock & Key & Poison's Look What the Cat Dragged In were released when I hit 15 and were pretty big for me too. I'm glad someone else mentioned World Wide Live, I loved that one too.

Around the time I was 13, I don't think I knew anyone my age that didn't have a copy of Pyromania. It was standard issue at my Jr High along with a black comb, pinstripe jordache jeans & an OP shirt.

I turned 15 in July of 1985 so it was still VH 1984 for me. And I was still 15 when March of 1986 rolled around...

I played the F out of the 5150 tape that summer. We took a lot of road trips and I remember when the Giants weren't on the radio I was playing that tape.

    1991
I don't really have a fav. FROM that year exactly. I look at it as I time period.
Most of that time I was listening to VH, Steve Vai, Satriani Helix, and so on.
From what I recall, I listened to a LOT of Passion and Warfare and F.U.C.K.

I remember hearing Poundcake for the first time on the radio and was dying for the album to be released......went to the store and got the Cassette AND the CD, lol.

15, would have been the beginning of 1989. I'm thinking it would have been 0U812 or New Jersey.
