Default Classical guitar buying tips, anyone?

I've been thinking about getting a cheap classical/nylon string guitar lately. Problem is, I really don't know what to look for in them. I've been browsing at the Yamaha and Ibanez ones on Musicians Friend and the features all look the same. I played a Yamaha CGS104A today at a local shop, price = $129. Seemed like a decent buy for the money.

I don't really want to spend over $250 on one, since it's just an experimental endeavor more than anything. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Reliable machine heads, preferred action, good intonation and a comfortable
neck and body. In essence, playability - since the tone will be commensurate
with price in this range. First off I would decide straight away whether you
want an acoustic/electric or just an electric, and whether or not you want a
    cutaway.

I bought an Ibanez AEG10NE off ebay in used but good condition for under
~$250. The intonation was off, the action was not optimal and there was some
string binding going on at the bridge and/or nut creating a sitar like sound on some
strings - all of which had to be repaired. For the price it is a decent instrument and
the price was justifiable considering how much playing time it gets compared to my
    electrics and steel string.
    FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!

The Yamaha acoustics in that price range are always a good buy. The way I understand it is they run their own Chinese factory for those instruments and they also own their own wood so they're not buying it from someone else, giving you a bit more bang for the buck.

I could be mistaken, but that's what I have been told.

If you have the patience I would ask people you know if they have any guitars they want to get rid of...not players though. You would be surprised how many people bought a surprisingly sweet sounding one for their kids only for it be abondoned and collecting dust and would welcome someone taking it...they don't want the hassle of selling it and can't bring themselves to toss it in the garbage.

Yamaha tends to have excellent quality control across the board.

Spring for another $200 bucks and pick up a used Takamine EC132. Spruce/Rosewood, great necks and bullet-proof electronics. My guess is you'll want to keep it, but if you decide to sell it, you won't lose a penny.
    yeah.......i'm still here.

I picked up this Cordoba C5 for around $300. Sounds great and the action is nice.
