    Default 1993 - Warner wanted a new studio album1!!

I was going through some old clippings/interviews with the band, and came across a intervieiw from "Hot Metal" in australia. Warner was pushing VH to record an album in 1993, but it was Eddies idea to take a short break from touring and then go out again in support of "Right here, Right now". Eddie gave them the option of a live album, so they said yes.

So they took some good recordings from the F.U.C.K. tour recorded some songs in the studio and added in crowd noise to make it all sound live and we got a below average quality "live" album.

"Average"? That thing is one of the biggest piece of crap live albums ever. For one of the greatest live bands of all-time, it represented all the arrogance, stupidity, and poor tast od the band and its management at that time. Just am embarrasment compared to what could have been.

strange, but i've got on dvd VH at 5150 studios from 1993 doing "Wont get fooled again" and "Dreams". They sound EXACTLY like the "Right here Right now" versions, only without the audience noise in the background. Every key and every note is the same...

Judgment Day and Man on a Mission, too.

I'd add Runaround to the list of hidden gems, but wasn't it released as a single?

if you listen to the end of the Dallas free show they do a little jam after Top of the World and it sounds like Sammy is coming up with lyrics off the top of his head. right before he starts singing the band is kicking ass and sammy says "I'd don't know what's goin on" and starts kickign out some lyrics.

that jam is awesome. If that's the kind of stuff they could have come up with I wish they woulda put out a studio album. It also would have scewed the whole timeline between 91 and 95 when it all fell apart with Sam and Ed. I've often thought that if they would have done a studio album none of the BS that went down in 95-96 would have happened and the band would be in a much better place right now.

Funny, I remember Ed saying that VH would NEVER do a live album because it would detract from the experience of seeing them in concert. Then, they go ahead and do a live album....

Ed has also said that Van halen was not a nostalgia band. Wonder what that last tour was all about then...
