With Dave-era or Sam-era, I like the harder stuff. Judgement Day is probably the happiest, most proud I was of a Sam era song. As Judge Smails would say, "Top Notch."

Best song of off FUCK hands down, and probably top five Hagar era.

Unapologetic ass kicker. Great live song as well.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

If i could only pick one song off FUCK, that would be it.
I was in a little band in 1993/1994 and we used to play that song over and over.

That was when i played a EVH EBMM through a Peavey 5150 half stack.

    Sounded great!

What I love most about that song is that it still holds up today. It's just a kick-ass tune with a take no prisoners attitude. Now that you started this thread, it kinda got me wondering about how the sound would have been if Eddie would have recorded the whole album using his Kramer 5150 and the Soldano SLO 100. When I first listened to F.U.C.K. I remember thinking to myself that Judgment Day and Pleasure Dome sounded totally different from the rest of the songs. Later I came to find out that Eddie used his Kramer 5150 on Judgment Day and a Steinberger for Pleasure Dome.

"Poundcake" and "Judegement day" were/are the ultimate Van Halen show openers!!! ......and their setlists from 91 to 93 were their best. They were on a dream roll around that time.

I love the song, its in my top 10 Hagar era definately, but the 2nd verse sometimes loses me in the lyrics department.

    Killer Tune

I remember back in the Van Hagar days, when somebody would dis' Van Hagar for being wussy, my buddy would tell them to listen to Judgment Day!

Kick ass tune. Love Mikey on the backing vox.

I love the pre-chorus oh tell me why should I

Lyrically, I like it but Sammy certainly likes the metaphor of bearing a cross. He used it on Warmth of the Womb and I seem to remember another song anyone?

One of my faavorite all-time VH tunes. It really shows what Mike brought to the table, too. Those unbelievable Sammy screams near the end? Mikey's doing those a third step (maybe a fifth) higher, and in harmony.

    Whoa.

saw VH in 93 on either the first or 2nd show of the RHRN US tour and it was by far the best concert I have ever seen in my life.
