Default Michael Anthony played bass on "Thunder Island"?

why would any one even search that horrible song on YT anyway?

and just because a comment on YT says it happened means it's true?

That is true. That comment should be confirmed on Wikipedia.

I don't think this is true, I think he recorded everything in Miami. Was is kinda strange is that Ferguson composed the theme song to the TV show "The Office". Perhaps MA played on that..

That's a great song. Heard it on XM a few years back for the first time and loved it. But, I'm also a big fan of 70's rock/pop

Finally, I just said, 'Fuck it!' and let her out of my room!" - David Lee Roth

Man, I really don't like that kind of rock/pop. Reminds me of Pina Colada (Escape) and other songs in that vein...bleh.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Joe Walsh did play slide guitar on that song. It's in the credits on the liner notes. Yes, I have this CD. Shocking, isn't it.

Never heard about the MA connection tho.

Harold Cowart, who happens to be a local boy from my parts, I believe, played that bass part. Of course, he could have received the credit and MA actually played on it. Seemed to happen alot back in those days. Harold was in Miami at the time doing alot of work at Criterion Studios for the Bee Gees and pre-production for Hotel California. It's common knowledge (or folk tale) around here that Harold played on Thunder Island, just FYI. Sorry to shatter anybody's perception of MA's bass player hero status.

That song was big when I was in college!

Any musicians near Boston / Cape Cod want to get together and play some VH? I play drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and I sing. I want to start a VH tribute band. Contact me if interested.

Maybe Harold played the bass on VHII, thus the confusion.

Big hit in the late 70's. Still played on the classic rock/70's stations now and then. Ferguson never really had any other hits tho. As someone mentioned here, did the theme to The Office and writes other stuff in Hollywood.
