    Battery powered amplifier

Hey all, my son is in band and they are letting him play his bass, but he needs a battery powered amplifier to carry while marching. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions on this? His marching bass will be his Schecter Gryphon 4, but we went and picked up his new Schecter Damien satin black bass last night. He was up til wee hours playing, he loves it!

I'm not aware of any battery powered bass amps. There are a few Roland Micro Cube amps and some Spider III amps that might work, but they're intended for guitar or keyboard and don't really have the sort of volume necessary for a marching band.

You might need to custom make him a battery/amp rig on a metal frame hiking backpack, using a motorcycle battery or multiple R/C car batteries and a transformer for power supply.

What's the range needed? Maybe he can use a wireless setup?

I just don't see how he can get enough volume in a marching band setting without a decent sized amp.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

That is a great idea to have a wireless setup. He is going to play half time at the football game tomorrow night and stand on top of the crow's nest while the rest of the band is on the field. We aren't sure exactly how this will work, but it is worth a try for this week.

Ok then, what is a decent wireless setup for a bass?

The new Line 6 stuff seems pretty good. Check it out. It's all digital. Think the midrange price stuff (Maybe even the lower end too) gets you a range of 100 ft. or a little more.
