I kept saying "this has got to get better right?"' I guess the answer was nope. I was really surprised how bad it was and the reviews were good which is crazy.

Nocturnal Animals
Interesting film.
Not used to seeing Amy Adams play such a cold, distant person.
For what it's worth... it all made sense to me at the end.

Agree. I think I put my review in here somewhere, but basically my gripe was that I wasn't sure what the point of the story was. Basically the story is this: a guy goes to college to play baseball in the 80's. There is no drama, the comedy is hardly memorable, and if it weren't set in a time period that could amply rely on the nostalgia from the audience, it wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
The only thing that moved the story along was time, which is incredibly damning to the story if the characters aren't memorable enough to carry the day. In this movie, they weren't.CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

The Age of Adaline
The first half of this was really good and Blake Lively is awesome as a 107 year old woman who stopped aging in 1906 at the age of 29.
Then the writers seem to have just said fuck it and let's go with the laziest, cliched route to finish this sucker out.
I was so disappointed with the stupid coincidence that happens with her and the man she decides to finally fall in love with, after spending her entire life avoiding the pain and sadness of loss that immortality brings.
Then the way they she encounters the same set of circumstances 77 years later that made her the way she is, is just beyond lack of any imagination.
There could have been such an interesting story here if she gave into her fears and let someone into her life and situation.
My advice... watch this one up until the point where Adaline decides to spend the weekend with her new boyfriend at his parents 40th wedding anniversary gathering. Turn it off just as they arrive at the house and make up your own better ending of what could have happened if Hollywood had the balls to not always play it so damn safe.

It's on sale for 10 bucks already. It hasn't even been on blu ray/dvd for a month. lolMichael Caine on Jaws: The Revenge:

John Wick: Chapter 2
Great sequel that is better than the original because it expands not only the action and violence, but also the story.
I really like the world they have created that Wick exists in. That contract bureau that the Continental runs is kick ass stuff. Better than something out of the Bond movies.
A perfect ending also, that sets up another story that won't be able to fall back on much of what drove the first two films.
Wick can be a bit super human at times, but then again... so are Bond and Bourne, et al.
I'd like to say that Wick reminds me a bit of Batman without the costume, gadgets and silly villains... but the head shot count alone blows that comparison out the window.

Star Trek: The Motion picture.
This movie bored me to tears but it was cool seeing everybody reunited and the shots of the Enterprise refurbished.
They're all on Netflix as of recently. Khan next. That one was pivotal to that time in my life.

Dunkirk
Excellent movie. Have a few minor complaints but nothing that is a big deal. I'd recommend IMAX if your'e near a place that offers it. I was not but if I was planning to be, I'd easily go see it again.
