Default Why Dave only posters inside "VHII" and "WACF"?

I've always found it strange why there was a poster of Dave only inside "Van Halen II" and "Women and children first". Why not the whole band. Was this Noel monks idea, or warner brothers. It surely would'nt of been eddie or alex's doing, cause later after 1984 they said in interviews they were tired of being looked at, as f they were daves backing band and that dave got all the attention. I remember Eddie saying this in a cuppla interviews. The "VHII" poster was only used in a few pressings, but the "WACF" poster was quite populer.

At that time DLR was the face of VH, not Eddie.

It's only with the benefit of hindsight that we find it strange, ppl then thought it was normal.

The only poster i ever found that was related to VH2 was a promo from 1979.
It was a poster of the back of the VH2 album with a small pic of the first album on it too and looked like it came with the LP.
Only one ive ever seen and i own 20 copies of VH2 on Vinyl.

I have a bunch of the 1980 LP posters.

No, the WACF album included a full poster of DLR tied up to the fence with chains. Helmut Newton (sp?) took the photos. Wasn't part of the liner or the notes.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I believe this is it, and I also believe there may have been another one with a mean looking dog in it, but I can't remember, that was WAY too many drinks ago to remember.

I think the poster you are talking about was in VHII in a limited number, correct?

I think the DLR fence pic was from WACF and it was included in all of the original vinyl pressings.

Edit: yes, Helmut Newton has a Poster Design credit on WACF. I believe it was included in the first one million pressings.

I bought a brand new WACF vinyl in 1987 and no poster.
Heard an interview with DLR from 1980 once where he said the poster was only in the first million copies.

The VH2 poster i had was a promo but was folded just like the 1980 poster so it looked like it did come with the vinyl.
It was the same size as the WACF poster and looked like the back of the album but had a small photo of the first album on it too, said something like also available.

Maybe it was a promo copy i had that only came with the poster?

I have a copy of VH2 from japan that comes with a lyrics sheet.

The VH2 poster included in the album was for the UK only, so it's very rare now. It was 12" x 24", folded in half, and showed DLR doing the jump/splits, and nothing else.

The VH2 poster that showed the whole band (and both albums toward the bottom) was a USA Warner Bros promo poster, and wasn't included in the albums. Also super rare.

As for the black & white Helmut Newton poster of Dave chained to a fence... I always heard that it was included in just the first 1 million copies of the real Van Halen III, Women And Children First.

Default Van Halen I Promo Poster

I have a Warner Brothers promo poster for the first Van Halen album that I bought from a record store owner in 1979 for five dollars. It is a grainy photo of DLR from the waist up, mic in hand, wearing a red silk shirt (open chest of course), silver beaded necklace, and a silver chain around his waist. It has the Van Halen I cover in the left, lower corner with "On Warner Bros. Records and tapes" in yellow under the album cover. I believe the photo was taken during the You Really Got Me promo video (if you have seen it).

The poster has six equal creases and looks like it came in the promo album that the record store my have been sent by Warner Bros.

Has anybody seen this...? I cannot find it anywhere online and would like to verify if all my assumptions are correct.
