Default new vh cd "cover songs?"

well we all know in the past vh from time to time have put a cover on a record. Do ya think they might put one on the new cd? if so what would ya like to hear em jam out to? My pic would be "everybody wants you" by Billy Squier. I think this song is a great song and with vh doing a cover would just blow me away!!

As long as there were 12 originals, a cover song would be fine.

Oh man! They did some amazing covers back in the bar days too, so I'd love to hear something from then if they were gonna add a cover.
Take Don't Call Us by Sugerloaf. I had no idea that was a cover years ago, but the boot sounded real cool. When I found out it was actually a cover, and heard the original I was like, wow! "I really like the spin VH did on it better than this turkey!"
Yeah....Everybody Want's You would be alright. Anything in that veign.
Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers Too. Though maybe not apropriate for Ed these days.
She looks so $#@!'n good ,so sexy and so frail....Somethin's got the bite on me, I'm goin' straight to Hell.

Great song, but they'd have to re-key it. No way Dave can hit those notes Plant did.

    Mahna Mahna.

Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

Funny! i thought about those same two songs, and came to the same conclusion. Sam could pull it off, but not Dave.
How about some Cream songs? Crossroads updated would be killer. So would Badge, I'm so Glad....Stuff they used to do. (Except Badge to my knowledge).
The boots of Ed doing Crossroads was magic. His tone and style fit that tune perfectly.

I would likely shit my pants out of anger because fans don't want another Diver Down. Hell, most fans don't even want the original Diver Down.

How about "Mr. Bassman"? A tribute to something Eddie holds so dearly to his heart as a musician.

Of course. One cover is enough. You Really Got Me was enough, and it rocked.
I think it would be fine with one cover, and it would kind of bring back the more good time vibe of the band. Something they've been lacking since OU812.The albums with Sam and Gary have had more then their share of social message based lyrics. Hell man! This is VH, not U2!!!

YRGM and Ice Cream Man...although the latter was really rocked the hell out of in VH's version compared to the original.
