Default Korean Peavey Wolfgang Neck Finish Crack Question

I have a Peavey Wolfgang EXP (Korean) model, and there is a thinner than hairline crack on the back of the neck that is about 2-1/2 - 3 inches long and starts just on the headstock on the backside a bit above the locking nut.

It does not follow any wood grain and appears to be caused by the top of the head being banged up, as there is also a crack in the finish at the top of the headstock. The neck crack is in the direction of the strings, so up / down, not across.

I sanded the crack with 1500 grit paper and it feels great. The guitar stays in tune, the neck is straight.

Is there a way to fix the crack in the finish, or should I just leave it?

    Thanks
One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

If it is playing fine and holding tune , I would say just leave it.
