    Default The Expendables

Don't know if the plot will be any good, but this looks as to be a fun movie to see

Ahhhhnold (a.k.a. The Govinator) has a cameo in the movie too. If I don't see it in the theatre, I'll definitely rent it when the DVD comes out...

I'd say that it's largely expendable. Pass.

Every so often, old washed up celebs will team up to make a movie together. Mainly, to pick up some easy money while giving us a totally cheesy flick. Space Cowboys is another example of that.

Is this based on the old movie by the same name?

I think it should be a fun flick to watch. I've been looking forward to seeing it for a while now.
    Stay out of it, dude.

I have to disagree with you on this one. I thought Space Cowboys was a fun little movie. Unrealistic?? Of course, but it was fun. Eastwood, Garner, Sutherland and Jones played off each other extremely werll.

I dunno. I'm getting a real "Knight and Day" vibe from this one. Stallone isn't exactly box-office viagra right now afte the last two Rocky and Rambo flicks.

To me, it just seemed like aging former hot shots who were running low on their bank accounts and needed to replenish them. That's what I mean by making a cheesy flick together. It's easy money and isn't necessarily a difficult nor serious role for any of them. They're just doing the movie until something bigger and better comes along, if at all.

This movie is similar already with the names, with the exception of a couple who are still in the spotlight currently. Statham for one.

i think you might be a bit cynical in your outlook. Perhaps it's a bunch of guys getting together and having fun making a fun movie?

Chickenfoot will never be accused of being Pet Sounds or Sgt Pepper but it's a fun record by a bunch of guys in similar positions in their lives and careers having a good time....at least that's what I hear on the links.

The Expendables will surely fall short of the finest moments in history but I bet the audience will have as much as the actors did!

I'll see it. I'm not expecting to be "moved" or anything, but I think it will be fun. I expect it to do well in the box office.

You thinking of the WWII flick with John Wayne? I think that was, "They Were Expendable". If so, nah, this a another deal. Anyway, I'm going to see it. Good matinee flick and I like Statham.

Anyone else see this? I thought it was pretty good. Good action, fight scenes. Stallone/Steve Austin had a good one and Couture/Austin was good too. Statham was cool, probably the best charater in the flick. The plot was a bit silly but guess you'd expect that. Good action flick.
