Default Who would you like to see Ed work with ?

..as much as I love both Roth Hagar eras..loved Cherone in Extreme..I would really like Ed to do the santana thing with multiple singers..I mean let van halen be van halen !..I think its time Ed moves on..I think we would get a helluva allot more music !

    Oh, yeah. That'll work.

Ed works so well with others.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

I honestly would like to see him release whatever music floats his boat. Whether its a tuba instrumental, him playing cello or flat out rockers. If the guy is creating music that fits outside of the Van Halen genre, well release it as Eddie Van Halen. Multiple guest singers would be fine. There is no shame in that.

Just record it at 5150, have Wolfgang convert it to digital and put it on Itunes or something. Let whatever fans he has the ability to hear his music whether they like it or not.

Now concerning VH, it should be Dave or Sam.

"IF" he did a multiple singer thing, he would still do it with Alex and Wolfie right?

I'd like to see him go bluesy with Robert Plant
    Rock out with Bruce Dickinson,
Go a little country with Shania Twain
    Release TWILY with Gary
Sass Jordan (finally get to hear her with VH)
    Patty Smythe (ditto)
Damn there are so many I can't think of them right now..............

Or just do an album with some of the top American Idol contestants.
    Adam Lambert
    David Cook
    Daughtry
    Carrie Underwood
    Kelly Clarkson
    Bo Bice
    Crystal Bowersox
    Casey James

    Wow! Great topic actually!
Yeah...Patty Smythe and Sass were mentioned. I think Sass fits the criteria more with the raunch in her voice. I'd still like to hear that. He often said he loved Joe Cocker; He wrote Right Now with him in mind actually...so that would be a cool pairing. Hmmm...for some reason, female singer are coming to mind. I always thought Stevie Nicks would would be a cool pairing too....at least the young Stevie. I can't think of any current "hot" acts really. I thought the Roger Waters "Lost Boys Calling" was very interesting...so if he did something else with Roger. They actually play well off each other. Maybe something with Jeff Beck.....

If he took some parts of How Many Say I and re-did it with Waters I think it could be very cool. Not the chorus so much but the feel of the music.

Patty Smythe the singer for Scandal, she is the hot one not the hairy pit, hippie one.

This Patty pronounces her name as Sm-i-th-e and the ugly one is Smith.

I'd like to hear all the different stuff he's done on piano or any other instruments. I'd like a cd of EVH instrumentals on whatever instruments. I don't really want to see him work with any other artists, doesn't really interest me. I think his approach is so unique and he has such a signature sound that his stuff doesn't really go well with anyone other than his brother.
