Default Tour/Album Delay Due To Economy?

I was thinking about how Azhoff made the comment last September about VH touring in 2010 and the alleged new music that Dweezil and others have heard and could this all be on hold because of the current economy?
Many acts have put off their tours this year while alot of the ones that are currently going on are really not selling too well. You have your Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, and Paul McCartney tours and a few others doing well but there are more slumping sales than thriving ones.

I wonder if VH decided to put things off for a year in hopes people will have more to spend next your for concerts and entertainment.

    What do you think.

Could be , but more likely VH business as usual with nothing happening or happening very slowly.

I don't think the reason is the economy.

Chickenfoot put an album out and toured. Satch has a solo release and tour about ready to go now. And CFII is due the beginning of next year. All of this within a year.

There may be something to what you say if they were hoping to fill an arena at $150 a pop. But I think it is more likely business (or lack thereof) as usual.

Makes sense. Hasn't the economy been bad for at least 12 years?

the last tour with Dave was in a 'down economy' and i don't think that hurt ticket sales. I think that the economy is impacting the delay as much as the amount of snow that fell in Winnipeg last January.

I do not remember Chicken foot trying to pack 15-20 thousand seat arenas though.

EXACTLY! The economy sucks, and most of the tours - major AND minor - are in deep trouble. You can't tell me Eddie and Irving aren't cautious right now because of this. The economy may be the biggest reason, it may not be the biggest reason, but I bet it's a big factor.

Tours are being cancelled left and right. Cash it tight right now, and folks don't have a whole bunch of money to be throwing it away on (maybe) two hours of songs they've already heard before at a much cheaper concert 27 years ago or on a Jonas Brothers concert for their daughter and her two friends.

What are the biggest tours right now? How are they doing? Are there any tours in trouble? Half-price tickets the day before the concert? Any of you hear about any of those specials? They're all over the place!

I'm not buying the economy excuse at all. Whether it's concerts, sports, entertainment, or whatever, people will show up if they feel it's money well spent.

Tickets for last tour were pretty expensive, they would have a hard time now selling like they did last time especially since the lure of the reunion isnt there anymore. I still think normal VH do nothing is at play here, but if they want to tour again and sell out, they better drop the prices or the arenas will not be full.

No Eddymon. The reason is the fans, they told us already. It's because of you that there's a delay. You didn't behave well enough.
