Default GOP chairman:Afghan 'war of Obama's choosing'

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100702/...an_afghanistan

Not big on politics, but wow....

This is the type of guy that ends up being an embarrassment to everyone around here. I feel pity for his family and friends.

Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele says Afghanistan is "a war of Obama's choosing" and the conflict "is not something the United States has actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in," comments that drew an immediate rebuke from Democrats and a call from at least two Republicans for him to resign.

Wow!! That was dumb as fuck...

This guy is another idiot politician because the taliban are like cockroaches, as soon as the lights are off of Afghanistan they will be all over the place. We will need a military presence there for quite a while, if not for ever.

It's almost like he was channeling Howard Dean.

    What a fucktard.

It is one thing to be critical of Obama's policies in Afghanistan, but for crying out loud, "Obama's War"? Seriously? Bush invaded Afghanistan after the attacks of 9/11/2001, does this jackass really need a recent history lesson?

When the head of the GOP can't challenge the President based soley on the facts it is time for him to go bye-bye.

I swear, the Republicans are going to beat themselves if they don't find someone to rally behind, and clearly this guy ain't it.

When they gave Steel the job as RNC chairman I was not happy. I work in Baltimore and know alot about Steel. First thing was he had no experience except being a one term Lt.Gov of Maryland and he lost a Senate race to Ben Cardin. I think the Republicans aka the stupid party just wanted a african american who would be in charge. If thats the case I think Alan Keys or JC Watts would have been good choices. In my opinion there is only one man who can actually turn around the fractured Republican party and that is Dick Morris the once liberal democrat turned conservative. The guys a slimeball and knows how DC works but he gets people elected and thats the job of the chairman pure and simple.

I agree. Michael Steele? REALLY?!? Like you said, edwardv, Alan Keyes and JC Watts would have made far better choices than Mikey Steele. I really like both Keyes and Watts and think they could have done a much better job than most people. I think that choice was a rush job.

I wonder, though, if the Republicans tried to get Keyes or Watts for this position? Did they approach anyone else before they offered the position to Steele?

One final thought: 'tis a shame that race has to be a consideration in 21st century America. *sigh*

Man has this guy lost touch with reality. He is inches away from jumping all over Oprah's couch! His letter of resignation would be much appreciated at this point. They need to bring in someone like Newt to head the RNC.

How is MS's comment "almost like he was channeling Howard Dean"?
Any musicians near Boston / Cape Cod want to get together and play some VH? I play drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and I sing. I want to start a VH tribute band. Contact me if interested.

Michael Steele expelled noxious gases from his pie hole. What a moron.

As for Dick Morris, Hillary will rue the day Bubba tossed him under the bus.

I concur that Dick Morris would be the perfect choice. The dude was responsible for people thinking highly of the Clinton presidency. He was the one who made Clinton into a moderate post 1994. Highly intelligent and understands how Washington works.

Steele should have been fired from his post about a year ago. Any momentum has come from forces outside the GOP. The Tea Party and people finding out that Obama isn't a combination of Jesus, Buddah, The Dali Lama and Michael Anthony

    Why?
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
