Agree 100%. I often wonder how that song would have done if it had been released as a single. It has it all to me, nice changes of pace throughout and just a very positive uplifting vibe.

I actually had that listed as my favorite VH song for years on here. Love that song. I remember listening to it when I was 14 or so and thinking even then "this is the perfect van halen song for me". Always imagined it being a really really kick ass tune live in front of 20k people.

I've always thought this song was very underrated. Probably my favorite off of WACF.

I agree. GREAT song! So uplifting, love the intro, Al's drums, and then that riffage! The harmonies are amazing, angels singing...and Eddie's solo is cool, too.

Easily one of DLR's best efforts.

This song shows a band totally in control of their art.

The could have played Happy Birthday at this point and it would have sounded killer and unique.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

While I love Simple Rhyme, I am going to go against the flow and pick "Girl Gone Bad." Love the drumming, Ed's rhythm and he has a good lead.

Hated the song back in 84 but now its one of my favorites

I read it somewhere, I thought it was over at AllMusic but it's not, that "In A Simple Rhyme" should could easily have been a hit single if it was released and it's true. That whole album is really underrated.

That's the kind of music I think they're primed to make again with Dave if they ever do. I love the combination of dark bluesy stuff with the hard rockers and then some acoustic tunes like "Could This Be Magic".

Tom Petty is about to put out a ballsy blues album called Mojo that, so far, sounds awesome. I'd love to see VH do that with Dave.

I think "Dirty movies" is under-rated. I agree about "....Simple rhyme" though, its a fantastic song.
What is understood need not be discussed

I agree with this one. You know what's funny.....on Rockline in 88 or 89 when Ed was asked what his favorite VH song was by a fan, Ed goes "Uhhhh....kinda like em' all, what would you pick?" back to the fan:
"Simple Rhyme." Ed turns to Sammy (Even though it wasn't his song)......"Do you know that one?" Sam goes "No, I don't know that one either" it kind of floored me that they, especially Ed did'nt remember it. It's one of their best written tunes.
