Default Another Super Group!! Black Country Communion

It have a feeling that I will like this a lot more than Them Crooked Vultures!
I was never a huge Bonamassa fan, but he could do great in a band. Glenn Hughes sounds better than ever on the little movie that is on their homepage..

ah and this song is really growing on me:

Who the fuck comes up with these names? Sounds as if it would be Jimmy Page and some friends going for a CCR vibe.

i think we are really reaching calling this a supergroup. Isn't that reserved for a few guys creating a band who are individually really well know?

Ok, this might be awesome, but calling them a supergroup is a real stretch.

I mean, Bonham just has a name, he is a killer drummer but he really hasn't done much.

Hughes, man, I haven't heard from him in years.

The other guys I have heard of, but I couldn't name the band our pick them out of a lineup.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

perhaps it's being dubbed a "supergroup" because they're all individuals who have created a name for themselves as being virtuoso types?

I had to look all of them up in wikipedia except for Bonamassa and Bonham, though I couldn't remember if Bonamassa was a guitarist or a bass player.

It seems like "supergroup" gets tagged onto any project where already established professionals come together regardless of whether they have achieved any sort of individual popular fame or recognition.
    Stay out of it, dude.

Black Country probably refers to the midlands or birmigham area of the UK that Bonham and Hughes originate from.

Also home to Sabbath, Priest, Zeppelin and the mighty Duran Duran ;-)

Me thinks we can detect a formula here, originated by our own CF.

Since everyone is "busy" with other project, the recording has to be done very fast = without spending much dough.
But CF showed that such a project could sell almost a million units, with the support of a chain like Best Buy.
Hence a great return on investment. I expect to see a lot of other "supergroups" being formed trying to milk this concept.

Thanks to Wikipedia, the keyboardist Sherridan performed at Eddie's porno party in 2006 and says it was his musical highlight.

Anyway I am a big Bonamassa fan so I will pick this up.

I've actually been really interested in hearing this.

YES. Supergroup it is. Household names? Maybe not so much, but these guys have ALL carved out a place in history outside of this band:

Bonomassa: UNBELIVEABLY talented player pushing the blues in to this century.

Sherinian: DREAM THEATER. Do I have to elaborate?

    Hughes: Deep Purple, etc...

Bonham: Ummm...does this really need explanation?

My advice is to go for the alien abduction story. Look bemused, dishevelled and on the verge of tears as you recount your story of intrusive and degrading medical tests.
Worked for me anyway. I still have colleagues asking me what it is like to fuck a green womanoid with seventeen breasts.
Alternatively just walk in and inform everyone that alcoholism is indeed a disease and that they should be less judgemental and perhaps a little more supportive."
    - graeme on the addiction to this place.

"something tells me that after the nuclear holocaust, there'll be twinkies, cockroaches, and a dave vs. sammy argument going on somewhere".

"in my best "saw" scary movie voice: "oh, yes, there will be beagles."

I've actually had the pleasure of catching a couple of Bonomassa performances on Paladia and reading a few interviews with him in the guitar magazine I subscribe to. The guy is awesome...just mind blowingly awesome.

Well when one of your guitar teachers was Danny Gatton, you probably will be a pretty decent player.

It's funny when you hear him talk because you he has a pretty raspy singing voice.
