Damn, I love this song. First of all, it is an amazing guitar solo, sounds like Eddie is just letting it rip and damn the consequences. Second of all, the lyrics are awesome, maybe the best Sammy's ever written. "You've got Allah in the east, you've got Jesus in the west, christ what's a man to do" is an awesome lyric. The song (and lyrics especially) make me angry and inspired all at the same time. This has to be one of my favorite Sammy era songs.

This is a great song. Very up tempo, awesome background vocals & the highlight IMO are the drums. Al is all over this song, especially live. This song smoked on the 95 tour.

I gotta agree Glenn. MAM is my favorite on OU812.

Alot of people absolutely rip that whole album - and I don't know why. I'll agree you can't hear the bass - but I still think its a better album than FUCK, Balance and III.

OU812... the forgotten album. Poor thing, gets more flack than Al Gore in an election year.

Something neat about Mine All Mine is how well the keyboards in it fit with the other instruments. It's almost to the point where, if you don't THINK about it, you don't really notice them.

Incidentally, there is an instrumental on the 3rd CD of the Looney Tunes set that is live on the 1984 tour. It sounds alot like Mine all Mine.

Yeah, Mine All Mine is my definite favorite off OU812. Should have been on BOV1 instead of the sappy ballad who shall remain nameless. That song alone would warrant a remaster of OU812... the production lacks punch and the song screams for power.

I hate this song. Almost more than any other song, ever, by any one. The lyrics just piss me off.

"All the words on the wall,
Look the same in the mirror."

.......... Thank you Sammy "Master of the Obvious" Hagar. That's one of those "Black is white and white is black" things I guess. I don't know. They don't mean anything to me.

OU812 had a lot of good music but some, I don't want to say shitty, but not so good lyrics. I mean, the intro to AFU Naturally Wired is just plain BADD!!! Same for Source of Infection, great music.

    But with AFU.....

"Has got me all fired up,
    Yes, I'm all fired up.
Through the ice and into the fire,
    Blowin' steam."

    ......... (long pause) All right?

    Then with Source...

    "Hey,
    Alright.
    Whoo, how about ya now?
    Come on,
    Oh yeah.
    Dig it."

....... (in my best Dr. Evil voice) Riiiiiiiiiiight?

I never cared for the sound of the music in MAM, so when combined with the fact I don't like the words, it means I just don't like that song.

OU812 has some good stuff, When It's Love, Cabo, Feels So Good, FWYS, Black and Blue. I think Black and Blue is one of Sammy's best songs ever, solo or with VH. The harmonies.... the harmonies are flat out AWESOME! I'd like to hear Dave sing this on tour sometime, that might be cool.

There 8 songs, I don't count A Apolitical Blues cause it's too short, and I think 5 of them are great, complete songs, but, excluding MAM, the music to every track is all good.

The only song I really really hate on OU812 is Sucker In a 3 Piece. Those lyrics are complete shit. Sugar Daddy, Sugar Mama whatever.

    Wow,

I think "Sucker" is a great jam. I can do without "Man on a MIssion" off of FUCK - that has to be my most hated tune by VH.

I like the lyrics, but not the music. Ed's solo is great, Al kicks ass, cool melody but...you can't hear the bass (ok,ok that's not the song) and the keyboard sounds cheap and old fashioned (as all keyboards do back in 1988). It would sound better without them IMO.
