    Default Pac Man's 30th anniversary

yesterday was the 30th anniversary of Pac Man. Still one of the all time greats. The kids today can have their high-definition let's go kill someone games - give me a stack of quarters and a Pac Man or Space Invaders machine any day. Never got really good at it like some people, but still never stopped me from playing. Even played Google's playable Pac Man logo. Thanks for 30 great years, Pac Man!

Will never forget the PacMan mania. What I remember most was the build up to the release on Atari.

My skills on PacMan were nothing to brag about. I kicked ass most on Missile Command.

I remember Pac Man well after many hours of playing. It beats the pants off of the new games they have now. Of course, I remember thinking that Pong was something back in the day.

Did anybody have this 45 spinning on their turntable??

I had the entire album. It touched on ALL the popular video games of the day. Donkey Kong, Frogger, etc.

I miss the old arcades we had growing up. Simulation Station and Aladdin's Castle were great arcades in my area growing up and it was a near religious experience to get my mom to drop me and a buddy off at one for an hour or two. I liked the arcades that never shut the machines off when they closed at night so the high scores would be epic (like Costanza's Frogger high score).

I could never play Pac-Man worth a flip. I remember thinking I was good at Tempest, though. And then Dragon's Lair came out, and it took 2 quarters. That sucked. Got an Atari 2600 for Christmas, and was never good at Pac-Man at home. Come to think of it, I sucked at all video games. Good times.

FYI, Google has now made their PAC-MAN doodle permanent at http://www.google.com/pacman/

I'm going to waste my life on this now... Thanks Google.

There was also an Aladdin's Castle in Westview Mall in Catonsville, Maryland. I spent much of my youth and savings at that arcade. Pacman, Time Pilot, Donkey Kong Jr, Punch Out ("It's Glass Joe"). Oh, the memories!!

Remember how bad it looked on the 2600? Pac Man was diamond shaped and the pellets were square.
