Default Scored an under the bed '98 special

The original owner broke a string, couldn't deal with the floyd, parked it under the bed and 12 years later: boom, a mint patent pending special finds it way to me with all the case candy and is now tearin' it up alongside my purple standard stoptail. Lovin' the Ivory too....

    yeah.......i'm still here.

My first Wolf was a '98 Pat. Pend. ivory Special. Mine is far from "new," though. If it were a car, it would have just hit the 500,000 mile mark.

I had the same exact one. GREAT guitar. I changed a few things up on it. I put a coat of Stew Mac Shielding paint in the cavity for good measure, got rid of the cheap tuners and put Shallers on it (I got Pearloid tuner buttons for them as well), put an MXR knob onto the guitar, and did the Van Halen Eyebolt/ dog clips on the strap trick. I loved mine, my little brother has it these days. Played it a few weeks back and its still a great guitar. Nice score. ;-)
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

Ivory is one of my all time favorite colors on a Wolf just something real classy about it, I finally found an Ivory Standard 2 years ago that was up to my specs and is just a special ax that I would never part with. I think you made out just fine considering it was a case queen and that the whole used guitar market is down. With patience anyone can find that special guitar between the cracks for the right price, even with guys asking for way more money for the same model there are plenty of guys who just need cash fast and cant wait to relist over and over again, no matter the make or model. Did you add the new volume knob or was it on there.

    Yo
    Mine is also a 98
Eddie's sig is wood burned, not the lame decal looking thing that came later.
I put a black pick up selector ring on it as well as a black speed knob.
What's with the patent pending thing?
    Did they change it later?
    Does it add value?
    Here's my Wolf

Pat pending Wolfs are desirable. All of the Wolfie-philes love those guitars over the ones with a patent number. AT knows much more than I on this subject. I don't know how much value it adds, but I bet in the long-term, those are the ones that go stratosphericly in value.

What surprises me is how the over-inflated Fender Wolfs have not inflated the values of the EBMMs or Peaveys. After all, one of the bases of the used (not vintage) guitar market is what a new one costs. That is generally why an LP that's 10 years old, while still cheaper than a new one, goes up in value over what it costs 10 years ago, for example.
Dammit!!! I still smell like cotton candy!!!
