'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

Maybe it sounds kinda weird but i used to record Eddie's birthday every year at the end of "ET" & looks like i missed this one - 1995.

    Cool footage!
The E channel was also there that day in 1993 for a Van Halen one hour interview.

What im trying to find is the footage i taped off "ET" in 1994 of Eddie at the Ernie ball factory.
I have it on a vhs somewhere.
    Anyone have that?

This is when Sam started to get weird when the Bro's would jam on Dave stuff. Even tho it's Ed and Al stuff.

Sam didn't like it when they soundchecked prior Van Hagar tunes.

    It's a long segment from 1994.

Shows Eddie in the factory buffing a ebmm body and playing one of the guitars, golfing.

It's also talks about how Sterling ball's son was sick and needed a transplant if i remember right.

Yeah if i find it i'll put it up.
I have so much VH footage from tv that i recorded in the 1990's all on vhs tapes somewhere.

Shit, I remember this from way back. I hadn't ever seen it other than that one time at the end of ET and I thought maybe I had imagined it or remembered it incorrectly. I also remember getting a gut feeling that Sam was near the end of his time with VH because they hadn't ever really jammed on classic VH and the boys just seemed to be having a blast playing this

Fast forward to 2004...I got the expensive backstage package where you got to watch sound check...it was awesome btw...but at one point as the band was fiddling around between numbers, a guy near me yells out "Hey Ed, where's Sam?" Ed shrugs his shoulders and says "I don't know, we sound pretty good without him don't we?" Got that exact same feeling in my gut when I heard that, and I thought of that old ET clip right there on the spot.

It's cool to see Mike's joy in playing that song. Eddie and Alex seem to be going through the motions but Mike seems pretty happy.

I always if anything could have been different had Sammy been more receptive to playing the older material. Not blaming him directly for his stance but that could have been one of the first things that caused friction in the band. Eventually Eddie would have fucked things up but it would have been cool to hear HFT during the FUCK tour. The band had it down.
