I've got the DVD and ofcourse they didn't play it, maybe it was edited?

I've seen the US fest so many times and I'm 100% sure they never played jump! He must have been more wasted than he looked!

It could have been edited out of the footage that's circulated since it wasn't released at the time. There wasn't a keyboard on stage.

    Anybody actually there?

That interview came from a issue of "Guitar for the practicing musician" in 1983.
I think they did "jump" at the soundcheck.

I know a couple guys who were there but sure they wouldn't remember.

Also i have the music for the film he's talking about.
"The seduction of gina" that Valerie was in.

I put it up on youtube a while back but took it down.

I remember reading inCreem or Guitar World back in the day that they did "Jump" during the show... the article said that a keyboard was wheeled out & they played a song which would eventually be called "Jump" on their new album, tentatively called "1984"... They also did the instrumental version of "Girl Gone Bad" during the jam of "Somebody Get Me A Doctor"...

So someone has to have it. So where is it & how do we get it??
It has to exist & with some of the stuff I have seen laying around this place
I know it's in someone's collection right now.
One of my regrets..was not being able to go to the US Fest. I blew out my knew just before and was unable to make it.
Don't even love "Jump" just would like to see if it sounds any different.
On a somewhat related note....I seen Journey on last night of the Escape tour at the Rose Bowl (July 2nd 1982) with Aldo Nova, Triumph and B.O.C. and at the end of the night they said we're gonna do one off our forthcoming album we've never done before....and I said oh great here comes a pile of suck.
But I actually gave it a listen and thought it wasn't the worst thing I had ever heard.....
and told my buddy... Hmph..that was'nt that bad.
The song ended up being Seperate Ways.
Regardless....I never knew that they did Jump at the US Fest and thought I had seen all there is to see of that event. So look....if someone knows anyone that has it please put up a link or a way to check it out.

I was there and I can say with 99.99% certainty that they did not play "Jump". Isn't VH's entire US Festival performance on youtube?

Perhaps Jump was left out of the video that was made, just like Good Enough and others didnt make it into LWAN.
I'd be really interested to hear it if it was indeed performed and a recording exists.

I was there and they absolutely did not play Jump, no way no how. I have no idea what they played at sound check. Not even sure any band would have been able to do a sound check as the public was let in pretty early and there were no sound checks between bands.

The interview was done the same year as the festival and Ed thinks they played Jump?? That's pretty fucking disturbing.

I was there and if they played "Jump"......I was fucked up alot more than I thought I was....

I should say that it was a long day and by the time VH hit the stage, I pretty much wanted to go home.....and it was 27 years ago (really?).....it's all a little hazy at this point.

I'm pretty for sure Eddie played it backstage for reporters, not on stage.

I remember reading about it in a CIRCUS magazine at the time.

I don't remember "Jump!" However, I do remember Dave doing a lovely version of "God Bless the Child."
