Default Les paul wiring problem / question

Last night at a gig, my les paul had a massive burst of feedback to the point I had to switch guitars. As I was checking out the guitar today to see what was wrong (it had never done this before ) I found in the the control cavity a wire that had come loose.

now, in the photo, the yellow circle/arrow is the loose end, the green arrow is where the other end is attached ( neck volume) and the pink arrow is where I think it goes (neck tone). Am I right? or can someone help me out.

    Thanks guys.

Its tough to see in the photo, but check this.
You should see a wire that kinda comes outta the body somewhere. Ya cant miss it cause it looks kinda outta place from the others. Imagine a hole tunneling toward your bridge. If this ground wire came loose, its gonna feedback like an unpayed whore.
Another thing you can try is get some alagator clips and clip it to where you think it "might" connect.
One things for sure, its a ground of some kind.

Thanks guys. It looks as if its that jumper between the volume and tone so I'll give that a try and see what happens.

    Thanks

And if that doesn't explain it, I don't know what will.

This may sound dumb, but can't you just look for a small glob of solder with no wire attached to it. That (should) indicate where the wire was attached.

Ha! Yeah. I had that same question asked on an old Marshall. It had a few mods done, real hackjob wiring. The original wires on a couple areas were snipped instead of removed properly with an iron, and a couple pots had been replaced, so tracking down the proper schematics to restore it was challenging. Especially with wires hanging all over the place. To make matters worse, the guy who did it did'nt use proper color coded wire, so all the replacement stuff was just whatever he had on hand. I went on numerous forums, and had to upload shitloads of pics, different angles, component values, etc. Not fun. Did you get your problem sorted out?

Dude, there no reason to be a jackass towards me. I was simply suggesting an option. and BTW, I just looked the picture again? Your pink arrow points directly to a small glob of solder. You may not be retarded, but sure as hell might be blind...
