    Default A Choice

Usually don't start these threads, but just curious as to the responses. Here's your choice:

    A. New album, VH - 2010 with your singer(s) of choice, Mike, all new songs.

    or

    B. Box set with tons of live stuff, 81 Oakland complete DVDs, Gene Simmons demos remastered, all the leftover tracks, Dave doing "Summer Nights", just pure greatness, etc.

Personally, y'all might call me crazy, but I'd go with A, but I would take the box set pretty quick

maybe, they all run together over the years, I'm sure it's been discussed at some point. Just curious if most fans are still hopeful of something new. I just get the feeling that if something new doesn't come in the next year or two, it never will.

I do have the opinion that the vaults will be opened, it may be 20 years from now though.

That's easy, B all day. Not even close for me.

VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

You know, there is still a part of me that wants Van Halen to have a present and a future. Releasing the demos, live cuts, complete Oakland shows (complete Oakland shows!!?! ) - essentially opening the vaults - would be utterly fantastic, but it would only augment their past legacy.

As much as I would reeeeally love B, I'd put my vote down for A. The original four haven't played together since 6 years before my birth (discounting the Best Of), and it would be incredibly surreal for me to see that.
Van Halen will rock your face off!

    Tough one....

I'll go with A, with both Dave and Sam singing an equal number of tracks AND I want the completed version of Gary's TWILY on there with Mike's backing vox.

Eddie already has it in writing that nothing will be released until after he passes from this earth then Wolfie gets to call all the shots, similiar to Dweezil releasing never before heard tracks from his dad after his passing. So I'm not holding my breath.

Not that either one would happen anytime soon, but I'll take A. I don't see B ever happening until Ed has passed on and Wolfie has the reigns.

    B. Gimme Oakland for $500 Alex.

At this point, even if they did release something new, it won't compare to the six pack. Why break the set? Leave well enough alone.

Unfortunately, Ed chose to pawn his son off on us and because of that, we will never get a proper final reunion. That ship has sailed. They're closing out their career with a whimper rather than a bang. Oh what could have been is all I can say!
