Default A revived Goldie Smoldie .............

I just revived this old build I did for someone about 10 years ago or so.......It was played hard and loved wich is a good thing. It had an OLP neck installed on it at one time. Needless to say the OLP neck is gone ! It now has a combination of pickups I have never heard before. A Duncan JB in the bridge and a Dimarzio Air norton in the neck. They compliment each other really well. Just don't tell Duncan or Dimarzio that !

Oh ...................yes the revival part.............I had originally built the body and sold it to somebody that built out the rest on his own. He had an OLP neck on it and some cheaper hardware, etc....... The body was really beat up, and had a " Home " finish job on it. So the revival included a brand new neck, with stainless steel frets. Brand new finish job and decals. Brand new wiring and neck pickup. Since the neck was an OLP wich is a 4 bolt. I had to plug the holes and re drilled them to put on a new 5 bolt neck plate after the finish work was done. Also the top is thicker than the original Van halen model was. Twice as thick as a matter of fact.

That looks sweet Scott!!! That color is dead on to a music man.

Forgive me for asking an unrelated question, but with your current setup, can you build a neck that has the same heel and truss rod design as a wolfgang neck (with the cut out section at the end of the fretboard with the truss rod wheel inside that), but with a music man fretboard radius and rear profile?

In other words, a neck that would fit on a wolfgang body perfectly and feel like an EVH??....

Yes, that is the cool thing about the set up I have going now. Almost anything is interchangeable with all the new programs.

Very cool. I knew you could mix and match but I wasn't sure how the 'transitions' would be with some odd combinations. I really like the wolfgang heel and truss rod adjustment area design, so it will be great if I can get some different necks that will all fit on the same guitar bodies with the same neck pocket route interchangeably.

    Beautiful as always!

When I am ready (gonna be a while though), you will build my next guitar. The tops and finishes you do look like something you could fall in to and swim. Some of the ones on your site are works of art.
