    Default Bass practice amp

I searched the topic and couldn't find anything, so I hope you all don't mind me asking: what is a decent practice amp for bass?

I've had a Jazz Bass copy for about a year, and I have usually just used Guitar Rig 2 on the computer and some headphones. But now I'm wanting an actual amp that sounds halfway decent and that I can stick a mic in front of, if needed. I just mess around on bass and record parts for my own little songs, so I just need something small and not too terribly loud.

I use a Fender 15W Rumble practice amp, and I like it well enough.

Nothing for a gig of course, but it won't shake the foundations when you are practicing.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Check out the Line 6 site. I've been hunting around, and came across this nice little 10" single speaker job by them. It's called the Low Down 110. It runs 75 W, and is a good all around amp. it's great for practice at home, and can also be great for gigging. It's around the 300 mark street, is very compact, but fills alot of requirements without breaking the bank on multiple chunks of gear. I'm picking one up in a week for my Jazz. Very impressive for an amp that's a 1ft. x 1ft. cube.

    Look into ASHDOWN amps...

    they are the shit..

    I bought a 4 x 10 combo and a 1 x 15 cab... best 800 I ever spent.

You can get smaller verions for much less...

Thanks for the recommendation on this one. I just ordered a Rumble 15w for my 12 year old son since he seems to take an interest in bass. I also got him an Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Bass (short scale) on scratch and dent at American Musical for $129. I was going to just get him a $79 First Act Discovery bass, but I might fool around with this thing as well and the Ibanez Mikro is more like a "real" bass. Of course it is a real bass but you know what I mean. First bass part I plan on trying to teach him is RWTD. I'm 46 and by the time I'm 50 perhaps he'll be ready to tour with me. LOL
