    Default Future in the Past

Just jammed a little Future in the Past on my way to work.

I have a funky funky feeling this song fookin' rocks!

I love the turns it makes. It's all over the place, but I believe by design. It's epic, or maybe even legendary. C'mon Joe just can't play any better, can he?

Book it, danno, it's the best this album has to offer. Stay tuned next month when I declare Avenida Revolution is the best song ever written by anyone.

    Rock it, fools.

I'm totally with ya! I've been on that song since day one! Here's my post from 06-03-09:

"I'm sure this will change with time and all will be my fav at one time or another, but right now I absolutely love the song "Future in the Past". I just love all the different musical movements in this song. I love songs that take you in several musical directions. Also, seeing these guys live it's awesome to see this song crescendo into a great all around jam at the end."

The only thing I was wrong about is it hasn't changed! Still by far my favorite. Great song, great album! Bring on CFII!

it's my favorite song on the cd, it's the second most played song on my IPOD...I love it, I love the "we got everybody talkin" part..love the intro the middle and the end...I have a live version of it from the warm up tour and joe just goes nuts on the outro solo, it's even more epic if that's possible.

Love the song, too, and just listened to it this morning! It borrows from Led Zep's "Thank You" melody-wise but, as Paul Stanley says, "If your gonna steal, steal from the best!" This one and "Bitten by the Wolf" must be what Sammy meant when he was comparing their music to Zep.

I'm still excited by this album when I play it. I haven't been this excited about an album in many years.

FITP does go in many directions and serves as an interesting capstone for the album. I just hope they don't really mean it when Sam sang "Saving the best for last." That would be a bummer.

Amazing song and what puts it over the top is when Mike comes in the verse with the harmony part on "we got everybody talking."

You gotta give some credit to Sam. He's the one who very cleverly thought "the VH sound was Mike doing harmonies in the choruses, but what if we brought that sound to the verses as well?"

    Well done, awesome tune.

My favorite part is in the grand finale when Sam has the quick verses and Joe would follow with a quick solo. Best part of that is when Mike comes in with the "Ay-yay-yay-yay-yay!" part off in the background. Gives me chills everytime I hear his backing vocals ease in from the back. Damn, what a song.

This song can be described with one word, in my opinion:

    EPIC.

This song takes so many twists and turns it's enough to make your head spin!

But Joe's solo at the end and the very last note is what does it for me, if I had to choose a fav section.

Just a PERFECT way to cap off a stellar album.

    Bring on ROUND 2!!!!

Loved the song from the first listen, but lately it has special significance for me...especially the title.

I keep getting hung up on the lyric "Let silence be my church". According to lyricwiki.org, the line is "Let science be my church". Perhaps I'm missing something, but silence works much better than science. Especially when he talks about listening to people.

    Thoughts?
