    Hey All,

Well, I finally got through my first 20 replies and I am now able to post. I thought I should introduce myself. I have been a huge VH fan since the 80's. Being a little too young, I missed seeing VH live during the 1984 tour. I got to see the VanHager as few times and Roth on the Eat'em and Smile tour. Last year I finally got see the real deal, well almost (less Mike).

Seeing Eddie in the 80's playing the Kramer 5150 made me want to play guitar. When I found this on the web, I could not help but pull the trigger.

Here are few shots of my new Kramer 1984 Reissue.

Beautiful guitar... all of the essentials for rock and roll and nothing unnecessary. I was going to buy a new one of those in red for several years in a row back when musicyo.com was selling them. Never pulled the trigger though, and now I guess they are no longer available brand new from Kramer (Gibson). Yours looks to be in great condition.

Are you going to keep it stock or eventually give it the 5150 paint job? Is the pickup stock, and if so how does it sound?

Nice score. I have had my eye out for a clean white one for sometime now myself.

Beautiful guitar. I grabbed both the 84 Reissue in white and the 85 Baretta Reissue in white and love them both. I just recorded the other night using the 84 and it sounds great. Good luck with it.

Hey all, Thanks for the kind words...

I plan to keep it stock (for the most part). I added a D-tuna and 42-mm Brass Block from Floyd Upgrades. I was originally considering putting an EVH Frankie Pick-up in it but the Gibson stock is really growing on me. Is has a really nice tone. Not very hot, but yet alive. Very Harmonic and resonate. Great hard rock pick-up and cleans up well.

Here is the specs on the hardware:

Pickup: 84T (Custom-Made to original specifications by Gibson USA)
    Wire Gauge: 44 AWB
    Turns: 6800
    Magnet: Alnico-V
    Resistance @ DC = 16.34Kohms
    Resonant Freq. = 5.2Kohms
    Inductance @ 1KHz = 8.3H
    Mounted directly to body
    Controls: 1-Master Volume
Potentiometer: CGE 500K Log (Audio Taper)
    Output Jack: Switchcraft #151

I plan to build a Frankie in a few months. After seeing some of the builds here I am truly inspired.
