Anyone ever paint or have a pickguard painted? Airbrushed? Strat style I am talking. How much does it cost to have it done? Any info is greatly appreciated.

price is usually based on what ou want to get done. it can range from 50$ to 500$ basicaly. but it can be done for sure as long it is properly cleared after it.. try your local bike shope, lots of folks have their bike painted with airbrush..

I've engraved a few using CNC machines and multi color-layered stock to reveal various color depths. If your looking for airbrushing or a particular graphic you may be able to have your graphic painted on the BACK SIDE of a clear guard so it could never be damaged.

Here's a simple sruss rod engraving I did that reveals the 2nd white ply.
FOR THE RECORD.. Ed, I don't make these "proprietary" logos to sell. This is my personal guitar.

Good idea, but painting backwards could prove to be difficult, depending on the graphic.

    Alain's right about clearcoat ...
For absoulte best results, use an acrylic urethane.
It's what automotive repair shops use to clear plastic bumpers and such.
It's extremely durable. It has to be in order to withstand extreme climate changes and the exposure to rocks, salt, and other road hazards associated with automotive finishes.

I've painted a few pickguards with this stuff and they turned out really well.
If done propoerly, it'll look more like colored plastic than paint.

Yep. Painting Thin sheets of Plexi glass is a cool way to go. I used to paint up plates for your car that way. Paint the back in reverse steps. But like Dino said, you realy gotta think.
