    Default McAfee or Norton?

I got an email from Comcast saying that they switched and are now partners with Norton, should I switch?

neither I use http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php they have a free version which is excellent.
I also use Comodo http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/free-download.html for a firewall, they have a free version and its like a fortress. Using this combo I have never had a problem. Comodo isn't the most newbie friendly firewall, once its configured it is best firewall I have ever used. I haven't used Comodo antivirus I may give it a shot sometime.

How could you even ask this question? Brett is awesome! Who is this McAfee guy anyway?

Seriously, I have always used Norton. I think it was Best Buy who told me recently that they will not even carry McAfee on the shelf.

One thing I will say about Norton is if you can, get the Corporate Edition. My personal experience has been that the home edition turns into a dog after a couple of years (slows the computer way down).

Personally, I've been kept clean by Windows Live OneCare for a few years now.

Agreed, i have been using them both for over a year now, AVG simply stopped working, wouldnt update and the scans took forever and then a copy of the 'Which Guide To Internet Security' came through my door and the suggested these, so far no issues with virus's, trojans or spyware plus both are very stable and don't slow your system down...currently i have them on my desktop and 3 laptops

I know these 2 items are so easy on system resources. I have them on a netbook and its amazing how much zip this little guy still has. My system boots in about 30-40 sec and ready to go. Going 2 years strong with them.

have switched recently from One Care to Miscrosoft Security Essentials - which is FREE. Seems to run pretty lean as well.
