    Default 2009 Eclipse Awards

    For those of you who follow horseracing like I do. The Eclipse Awards were given out Monday night. I always look forward to these every year. I only hope that my husband and I are fortunate enough to have a horse that get nonimaed for one of these. Welllllll I can dream can't I?

    Good to see you again Sunya....hope your well.
    EVH 1979: Well, actually it's not much of a vacation, because we run everything ourselves. We design our own album cover, we have to be in the office every day to sign checks - the whole corporation revolves around us. Nothing can be done without our approval. We even have photo approval.

    Thanks, doin' well. Hope things are well with you also.

    I couldn't believe that Rachael A. beat Zenyatta by such a wide margin. I thought which ever horse won it would be a much closer race. Both ladies of racing sure deserved it. I'm glad that they are keeping Zenyatta in training and are going to race her a few times this year. It's good to see the Moss' understand that racing need some heros, well in this case a heroine, to keep more interest in the sport.

    Owners take their horses out after 3 years to breed them and no one gets to know who the really great ones are anymore unless they are a real standout. But then they fade so fast for the publics memory. Use to they would race the horses for 5-7 years before the would breed them. I know the longer they race the bigger chance there is they might get hurt. But the biggest reason is the money isn't in racing the horse, it's in breeding the horse. And let's face it, life is all about the cash.
