    Default Best Cabo Time?

I am looking to book a trip to Cabo this year, but have a lot of flexibility. For those who know such things, what is the best time to visit Cabo Wabo? Sammy's Birthday?

    best time is...ANY TIME!!!!

I've mostly been in winter and early spring....due to avoiding the snow for a week. Based on price, the months of Jan and April have always been good from my neck of the woods. As much fun as it would be to be there for Sam's b-day bash, i'd actually avoid it...too many people and the chances of getting in the club to see one of the b-day shows is tough.
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

    Thanks for the response.

I've been there once before and it was in late April. It was a great time to be there (not too hot yet and not too crowded).

I guess what I wonder is what "events" are there at Cabo Wabo that may be worth planning around. What's the deal with his bday bash? How do you get in? Is it too crowded to enjoy? If not his bday bash, are there other "cool" events to plan around? With enough planning and using the boards and fan clubs, etc., is there a way to get some priority at the bday bash?

CB took the words out of my mouth. Anytime is the best time.

Unless you have an inside source I would avoid going in October. In order to see a show you usually have to stand in line from 6pm until the next morning when they release the tickets. Personally I don't go on vacation to sleep on a street in Mexico.
Then again it's easy for me to say as I've seen him down there. And seeing Sammy at the Cantina is one of those things every fan should do.

I personally find April to be the best time. The Cantina opening is at the end of April however they haven't really done much to celebrate it in the past. First week in May is also great as you hit Cinco de mayo and that's always a good time in Cabo.

If you go in March you will run into Spring breakers. There is usually line ups at all bars during this time. Avoid going August and September as that's the hurricane season.
July and August is also way too hot to be down there.

    Hope that helps.

My parents own a timeshare there, they go every year in late February. Last year was the first time we got to go too because our daughter was finally old enough to actually enjoy it. Perfect weather, mid-80's, not too hot, and not too crowded. I don't know anything about events at Cabo Wabo, when I was there nothing was going on there. But a non-issue to me, it's not like I really needed to see anything there. But I definitely know you want to avoid the summer months, way too hot, the winter is a much nicer climate down there.

Thanks a lot. I was hoping there would be a way to get into a birthday bash show other than sitting in line for 12 hours. It sounds like there's no shot at that, huh?

Not only no, but there are scammers every year trying to sell wristbands, I almost feel sorry for the first timers who get took. If youre set to go in October, go the week prior to the Bash, He plays most every other night and ( while you'll have to sleep on the side walk ) you should only have to get in line around 4 AM. IMO, the bash is now over rated, waay to many people, seen sammy 4-5 times there, last few times, not fun at all... MY .02

So, in your mind, the best idea is to plan to be around several days prior to the bash and hope/assume Sammy may play?

They usually announce the Bday dates a couple of months ahead. The schedule has usually been that he plays a few shows before and the Birthday show is the last one.
If you're there between Oct 7-13 you shouldn't have any issues.

To second my Bro here. count on him playing every other night leading up to the bash. ALSO, there are locals who you can pay to stand in line for you, but the last few years, they have been getting kicked out of the line aound 6 AM. Also, people will be pretty pissed at you for using them But on the upside, you will / should meet so pretty cool people in line & that will pay off later that night. when the bar gets stupidly crowded, those very people will either let you thru to the bar or hold your place on the floor. there are some real fuck heads ( usually first timers ) who think its cool to push forward, take your place.. Hell most of us are past that point and jsut want to have a good time. ( sorry for the ramble ) I would get in line once to say you earned your wrist band, they also have a large TV out side, you can watch the bash there...
Sam, Dave,Gary... who cares. its all about what makes you feel good.
