Man, that sure doesn't sound like Ed in 1984....
I swear, it's like I'm playin' cards with my brother's kids or somethin'. You nerve-wrackin' sons-a-bitches.

Great interview. Ed seems do not address the issue of natural talent/gift. Lisa Robinson always did good interviews. I remember seeing this one as well as her interview with DLR. She had great legs that Dave couldn't ignore, and I'm sure Ed as well. I would love to see Ed hear this interview now and see his reaction of his thoughts 26 yrs later.

What strikes me is in Part 1 from 3:05-4:30 and then again from 9:15-9:40.

And yet we're all shocked and shaken by the way he's been for the last 11 years or so after VHIII tanked? Insecure? PLEASE! He's the poster child for insecurity...but we've all known that for all this time. But still, the writing was on the wall way back then, kids...we just didn't want to believe it, evidently...

...then again, I might just be spitballin' at 4am, too...

...then again, maybe I'm too far off base here:

Part 2 from 7:18-8:02 and then again from 9:14-9:53.

But hindsight is always 20/20...and it IS 4:20 am, so what do I know?

Man, if she hadn't said she was interviewing Ed I wouldn't have guessed it was him, doesn't sound like him at all.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

IAMA I am a stage hand for big mainstream artists. (self.IAmA)

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

It was just after a show, and he does sound wiped. I've got some old tape of Rockline around this time, and he does sound pretty much the same, but with more energy. Overall though, around this time and prior, he was a much humbler reserved kind of dude. I think he just got more confident, and more jaded as time went on. He did'nt have the same kind of cinisism back then that he does today.

I've always really enjoyed this interview. Real honest and introspective. Kind of partly why I took such exception to the recent GW interview with Iommi.
    Quite a reversal of character.
She looks so $#@!'n good ,so sexy and so frail....Somethin's got the bite on me, I'm goin' straight to Hell.

    Great interview
    thanks for sharing.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

    I agree.
