Default Ed has his hip bone in refridgerator?

Just caught about 2 minutes of Val on Regis and Kelly and they must have been talking about Regis' recent hip replacement and I heard him ask Val about him (Ed) keeping his old hip bone in the refridgerator. She then told him that she no longer lives or is married to him and that he is remarried to a great woman.
I didn't see anything else regarding the interview and do not know if Wolfie came up and if she said anything as to what he was doing now. I was hoping to but they went to a commercial and I could not watch anymore.

Yep, pretty old news. In the freezer with "My hip, do not cook" or something like that printed on it.

Pretty old news?? More like REALLY OLD news. Ed had hip replacement in 96 Eddymon. Don't you remember? That's when we all thought Dave was back, and Ed said when the press was asking them questions at the MTV awards, he had thought Dave had really changed, but when they asked Ed about his upcoming surgery, Dave started being "the same old Dave', whatever that meant......and we all got another big VH bomb dropped on us shortly after.

I thought he had it done sometime AFTER the VH3 Tour? Late 1999 I believe.
And what kind of whack job keeps his old bone in the freezer then? Oh yeah, Eddie does.

I think he had the surgery in 1999. He discussed his hip on MTV when they reunited with Dave, but I think he was discussing his need in the future to have the operation.

    I can imagine...

Eddie had to get the new hip for a combination of reasons, all that jumping and landing for many years combined with the heavy drinking Im sure played a major role.

Eh, the way it used to be...I'm sure you could imagine, but the experience was SOMETHING else.

Hmmm...well thank you James. I'm glad Ed had it done so he's able to jump, hop, run, and do all that stuff he's good at.

That was the famous blow up Eddie and Dave had at the MTV awards. Dave heard Ed talking to a reporter about his hip surgery, and Dave told him to "stop talking about his fucking hip" and the real news was him being back in the band, not about his "fucking hip!"
The very discussion that brought about the "next time you say something like that, you'd better be wearing a cup" line from Ed that launched a thousand or so references around these parts.

I guess it's pretty strange, but not unheard of. My buddy's dad did the same thing though with a chunk of his lower femur after his knee replacement. It was funny... he'd show it to people. It just grossed people out, but I guess it's a bit of a weird fascination. He kept it kind of like a trophy. He'd been in pain for years, and it was kind of momento of his new found mobility, and a fuck you to what was hurting him for so long.
