Default HELP - Les Paul & PRS Necks

Can anyone save me a long trip to GC and tell me about the Necks on the Gibson Les Paul (at a glance there appears to be a 50's style and 60's style .... and maybe others?) , and the PRS Guitars (regular and wide thin) ??

Its for a friend out of the country , and he wants one of each, with the narrowest nuts ( as close to the EBMM EVH as possible). Any help / advice GREATLY appreciated !!

    Merry Christmas !! Happy Holidays!!

I know a bit about the Les Paul necks...The '50s necks are really thick. sort of like a baseball bat by comparison to the '60s necks, which are quite thin...I believe the new LP Standards have a compromised neck shape that is somewhere in between and the Traditionals have a thicker, '50s type neck...personally I prefer the '60s neck but it is a subjective thing...hope that helps..

I was on the PRS site a few days ago checking out the specs on their necks. I'm sure similar info for Gibson is easily findable also. (Google!)

I also collect alot of Gibsons and PRS collector models and the 50's neck is quite a bit thicker than the (my prefered) 60's necks the newer Gibson's have what is called the assymetrical necks which a combination of both and plays really well, as far as the PRS guitars are concerned the most desirable necks are the wide/thin neck profiles as they are thinner and easier to play than the wide/fat PRS necks -hope this helps.
