Default Do any VH fans ever admit...

To being really burned-out on listening to VH.

It's almost a chore to listen to anything. I think I need to change my musical diet some. Perhaps take a sabbatical from listening to any VH for, I don't know, a year maybe.

However, I did listen to Pleasure Dome yesterday and it was a breath of fresh air as Ed really seemed to let loose on that song.

a year is too much, maybe a month is good enough, so when you play it again it will feel fresh again.

I don't listen to VH "regularly." In fact, I don't think any of their records are in my car at the moment. Perhaps that's why it's always fresh and fun when I do listen. Pleasure Dome is a great song. I don't care what anyone says.
    Stay out of it, dude.

I recommend you buy yourself some Gov't Mule......Specifically, their latest "By a Thread." If you dig it, check out their extensive back catalog. And I agree, Pleasure Dome is a great tune. It's sort of my "sleeper" hit from that album.

Actually, I've really been digging The Killers and Muse.

Listened to a 'best of' from Scorpions last night also and just totally have a renewed respect for those guys!

Well, I don't think I actually get burned out on VH, but for the past week, all I've been listening to is Rob Zombie.....I LOOOOVE Rob Zombie, so when I do listen to VH again, I'll love it more, and it'll pump me up.....I do this from time to time.......

I only get burned out on the VH stuff they play on the radio, over and over again. I never get tired of the tunes that never get played on the radio. I always need my dose of VH.

And yes, I know what they say about denial.

I haven't listened to any Van Halen regularly in about seven months. It's probably the longest time I've gone and really haven't turned back as "missing" it. I'll listen to a song here and there, but they've really fallen back for me.

I seriously think it's Ed. I've lost so much respect for him I can hardly take the stuff seriously anymore. That's just one guy's opinion.

I'm usually listening to music on my iPod on either a full or rock genre shuffle, and simply by the ratio of VH songs to other songs, I'm bound to come across one within about 10 songs.

I have the only six Van Halen albums that matter on my iPhone as well, and so those songs come up in the shuffle along with most of the other 2700 other songs on there.

I've been checking out Muse as well. Extremely talented band. As for VH, it's more that there are songs I don't listen to such as Jump but when the shuffle plays a song like Pleasure Dome, it's still enjoyable.

I'm with what someone else said. I get real burned out on the tunes that they play on the radio all the time. I do also grow tired from time to time of them in general, but I have a very wide range of tastes. Kimmie mentioned Zombie. Sometimes that shit just does it for me. Other times I'll be on a blues kick, or classic rock kick, but here's what makes VH magic. I have grown tired of other artists for whatever reason, never to have a desire to listen to them again, but I often still get the urge to go back and throw a VH disc on I have'nt heard in a while, and it just does something to you. It's just great music. Plain and simple. Not many other artists have such a consistent catalog of wall to wall great tuneage.
No....I'm not forgetting III, but let's face it; one bad studio album is'nt a bad track record. Even my least favorite album with Dave, Diver Down, still had some great tunes on it.

I can get burned out on Van Halen like anything else. It's happened before, and it could happen again. It would actually be kind of nice not to hear "Eruption" and "You Really Got Me" on the radio as much as I hear it. Why not "Eruption" and something else? You know...shake it up a little bit.

One of the stations around OKC will play the occasional album cut after dark. It's pretty cool.
