Default It's been a long freakin' time!

Hey guys. I used to be semi-regular here, but it's been several years ago.

Thought I'd stop by and read some threads, and then I figured that you guys might like this cover of Little Dreamer I recorded a couple of months ago.

So here it is. I'll give a rundown of the gear I used if anybody is interested.

    Little Dreamer

FWIW, I'm doing everything on the recording.

    Pretty simple setup.

Guitar is a US Masters LeGrand Floyd with a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge.

I ran that into an MXR EVH Phase 90 into a Peavey Classic 30 with a Celestion G12H30, and mic'd it with an SM57. Reverb and compression added as plugins when I mixed it down.

Only goes to show that all the crazy $$$ people put into gear, you can still get a great sound the old fashioned way.

Great cover. Did the distortion come from the AMP??? A PEAVEY no less? If so, what a great amp. I have read about these amp's before, however nobody talked about the distortion on it.

Yep, the only pedal I used was the EVH Phaser.

The Classics are great amps. The cleans are nice, but the OD channel on them is where they shine, IMO. They'll handle pretty much anything from clean up to a little gainier than what you heard there (I usually set my gain at 9 out of 12...these go to 12) and you can roll off the volume on the guitar to clean it up a hair, or put it full throttle for some fairly gainy sounds.

They won't do modern metal or anything, but for blues and classic rock they are hard to beat IMO.

I've got the Classic 30 and a Classic 50 and bought them both used for peanuts.

There's some great deals to be had on those Peavey Classics. I almost bought one this summer but ended up going with a 30-watt Laney.
