Default One-Hit Wonders of the 2000s

    from www.billboard.com:

    http://www.billboard.com/#/features/...04051216.story

is it a sad commentary that I can probably only hum a few bars of one or two of these songs (and one only because it was a remake of a Bryan Adams tune!)?

I forgot about a lot of these songs.

I'm a little disappointed that I've been reminded of them
"I respect that youre passionate about this but what your saying is complete idiocy..." - MF5150 on McDonald's "preying" on young kids.

"He was born a human, he's a horse's ass by proxy." - It's Mike on Eddymon.

Popular music is dead and I am not sure it can be resuscitated.

They wonder why music sales are down.

I swear pretty much anybody who is in a band and posts in the music forum could write better songs than most of the ones shown there.

I believe the best music now is found in the indie labels. You have to go looking for it, but it can be rewarding.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I don't even think you really have to be IN A BAND to write better stuff than what we're hearing these days.

I can honestly say I only recognized 3 on that list. And 2 of them, only because they are covers.

    That godawful annoying Hinder song.
    The "Heaven" cover
The cover of Roxettes "Listen to Your Heart"

Oh...ok, and Mambo #5, only because it was played every 5 minutes in the bars back in '99.

Poor freakin' Bo Bice. His first album sucked because 19 Management wouldn't let him be him: they gave him some sort of adult alt-pop crap. [NOTE: that's the chance one takes when they go on a show like American Midol; you may get good and well screwed, thus being unable to be who you really are]

Back to BB...THEN, he makes his own album - which totally kicks ASS! - and it's independently released and really doesn't do anything. Oh, well...see note above.

"The shit I read on this site." -- Dave's Dreidel (Nov 6th, 2013)

"Don't ever confuse talent with fame." -- Bob Lefsetz

"There's very little greatness in this world, but in the crucible of quality there's a special corner reserved for Van Halen." -- Bob Lefsetz

I know Brett and AT here on the Links have better songs on CD than any one of those songs.

I am freaking hack, and I think I have some songs better than those. I mean some of that stuff is embarassingly bad.
