I have used TONS of GFS hardware and pickups in various guitars, and I've played 2 of their Les Pauls and a Strat. They are some of the best guitars for the money, or even three times the money. Their Les Paul played every bit as good as an Epiphone, which is easily 3 times the price (it also played better than many gibsons I've tried).

Now, I'm not saying that their guitars are $3500 Gibson killers, but they hold their own. The maple caps on the LP's that I had in person are a maple veneer over a plain maple cap, but they had slightly better looking flame maple than the 5 Gibson LP standards they had in stock at the big guitar center near me....

Thanks for the reply. I've used lots of pickups from them, & like'm all. Been thinking about getting a Tele & for the price they look good.

Their guitars are such a bargain I've been tempted many times to buy one or two. I always have to stop myself and say: "Whenever you buy a cheap guitar, you never play it and then end up selling it later." If I had ANY real need for one of those guitars I'd buy it in a second.

I have thought about trying one for the hell of it, but I have no need for yet another guitar either. I really think for $159, they gotta be crap....they're so inexpensive. That's dirt cheap.

Just another thought, the GFS guitars and wired pickguards I have encountered have all had excellent soldering and wiring. And you might be surprised how much you like the GFS pickups, even if you usually like boutique/higher end gear.

That's good to know, because I read a review that pretty much dissed the wiring.

Anyone tried one of their hollowbodies? My son says he wants a hollowbody guitar for x-mas but I wasn't really interested in the GFS ones until I saw this post.
