Default Save the Burt Reynolds Museum!

The Burt Reynolds museum in Jupiter, Florida is in danger of closing. The building the museum currently resides in is being demolished and a shopping center is being put in its place. This can't happen because this place is legendary.

I think it was a Freudian slip....Marc apparently has very conflicted feelings about the "Bandit"

so tell us Marc, how do you really feel?

Wow..... that is sad. I wonder who drew that awesome pic of the bare chested God known as Bury. It has that great hairy chest and man-el toe look that is so darn sexy! SNIC would be sad... he is a big Smokey and the Bandit fan. I am pretty sure he was quoting it to SEA at one of the TLW's!

The fire station across the street at "Burt Reynolds Park" is where I report to work. This plan to tear the mueseum down has been going on for a few years. Local organizations are trying to save the day and keep the building intact. I'll let 'ya know if anything changes.

If GM hadn't shut doen Pontiac, I'd nominate them to step up with the money to save the place. That one movie probably sold more Trans Ams than any other movie did for any car.

Maybe the Bandit can ride again and take the museum to Texarkana?

This is fucked up! My father-in-law lives in Jupiter and we go down there at least once a year to use his house when he comes back up north. We're usually good for at least one trip to the BR Museum a year. It's a goddamned monument to tackiness! We love taking friends there and seeing the absolute horror on their faces when they experience the museum in all its glory for the first time.

What's funny is that the people who work there take it seriously, as if it were a real/respectable musuem. You get serious dirty looks from them if you laugh at all the cheesy shit on display.

    This cannot be happening!

Actually, there isn't one but they do have the canoe. You can see it in the corner of the room in the pics above. What's crazy is that pic of Burt shirtless above isn't even the weirdest one they have. There's a life-sized oil painting of him on horseback (shirtless, of course) holding a puppy. The first time we saw that we were like WTF??? They sell a smaller verion of the painting as a postcard in the gift shop, which is displayed proudly on our refrigerator.
