So, I pulled out this CD and realized again how aweseome it is! Well, three songs (Get it on, Some like it hot, Murderess)...I love the crazy druming by Tony Thompson (RIP) and the crunchy guitars with some funky bass.

They released another CD in 97 - but in Canada I can't get it (will be forced to download illegally I guess).

That said, are there any bands out there that remind you of these guys? I'm looking for something similar...

    HELP!
Winners come and go; legends are forever.

Yeah, way back in 2003 if I am correct. Definately miss that voice. I actually have the second cd, although I have never really listened to it yet. I will eventually.

I have their second album and it's not as good as the first one.
Still has lots of great Andy Taylor guitar though!

You can listen to some or all of the second album on Andy's soundcloud page.

Power station is a sad story, Bernard Edwards played bass on the Second album as John Taylor pulled out -Edwards passed away soon after recording was finished. Both Palmer and drummer Tony Tompson died in 2003.

AWESOME!! Summer 1985 and it was the CD to have. Powerhouse drums, guitar and vox. The videos with hyper color 80's extrordinaire were freaky cool too. Some Like it Hot! I have nothing but fond memories of this rockin' cd and love every tune on it. Harvest for the World is a sleeper IMHO! oh and Murderess !!!!! best CV

I remember visiting my brother in Phoenix that summer and watching them on "Saturday Night Live". I had never heard of them, but I instantly recognized John Taylor, being the big Duran Duran fan I was. Great performance. Got the tape a few days later.

One of the most infectious songs....great drum hooks...which is unusual since I can only think of one other at the time.

Hot for Teacher was the other one I was thinking of.

I also have their second CD somewhere around...only thing I remember is a semi-decent cover of The Beatles' Taxman.

I think Robert Palmer is the only guy I ever saw who could wear a suit all the time and still go out and kick your ass on stage with ROCK music (no offense. Mr. Sinatra - love you but you weren't a rock and roller, maybe the lifestyle but not that type of music). Love his voice. I miss him a lot.

AND I also wish like heck this band would have done a LOT more. The band had a lot of potential to do some great things.

RIP guys. Thanks for the music!

Hey Scott, man this CD/ damn, cassette, brings back memories. Great kick ass stuff. Played the hell out of the cassette. Try listening to" Feeding off the Mojo" by Night Ranger. It was only Kelly Keagy ,Brad Gillis and Gary Moon in the band in 1995 . It's got that same kick to it.

I had no idea that Robert Palmer recorded four albums before he got a hit record with "Bad Case Of Loving You" in 1979. Talk about perseverance!

1974 Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley - -
    1975 Pressure Drop - -
1976 Some People Can Do What They Like - -
    1978 Double Fun - -
    1979 Secrets - -
    1980 Clues - -
    1983 Pride - -
    1985 Riptide - 2xMulti-Platinum Gold
    1988 Heavy Nova - Platinum

I can still see the vids from these guys in my head. They were pretty catchy back in the day.
