    Default Chickenfoot Grammy?

Just putting it out there. Any chance Chickenfoot gets nominated for a Grammy this year? Maybe Best New Artist? Maybe Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal? IDK, just asking.

You'll know soon enough. The nominations will be announced December 2.

Satriani is a Grammy King, he has a bunch, and was nominated 2 years ago I beleive (maybe even last year). Not to mention every single one of the members in the band have won a grammy at one point. They have a legit shot I'd say.

Hard to say as many, many critics and music fans wrote Chickenfoot off before they even did anything. I don't know what the rest of you have read, but Chickenfoot has been very poorly received by tons of douchebags who think they know rock music. They released a very good album and deserve recognition for it, but the critics have generally been brutal.

Groups that have never won a Grammy include Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not comparing CF to them, just noting that the Grammies did not choose to recognize some pretty significant rock acts.

Music critics mostly share the same musical tastes, and that don't generally include stuff like CF. They're also generally irrelevant at this point. They may matter to Grammy voters, but see above.

Chickenfoot would never in a million years win over Them Crooked Vultures if both are nominated in really any category.

I think Crooked Vultures are gonna sweep most rock categories. Not only is the album spectacular, but most other outlets seem to agree. Chickenfoot was outstanding and got generally positive reviews, but put John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl in the same project and I'd find it very hard to lose.

I'd pull for CF, I just don't see it happening.

    LOL!

Actually considering all the crap that is out there I don't see any reason why not. CF put out a great disc and it's filled with great nuances and good stuff from seasoned musicians who very few can compete with. I don't mean to over glorify him but Satch came up huge in this, not forced, all natural and fantastic.

It would be awesome if they won one. Why not, great first effort for sure. SLT alone is kick ass.

I know you are kidding but even if Eddie purposely threw up loon all over Mikey, poked Sammy in the eyes Moe style, and kicked Joe in the nuts sans cup as they accept multiple Grammy's all while ranting like a disturbed madman ....(kinda like me lol)CF's success can't erase the impact and amazing shit that dude created. Just sayin'. Why even make those jokes. EVH's playing and the old music really means that little to you? Joe and CF comes close to making it go away? What did you jump off the VH bandwagon as quickly as you jumped on? <-joke

Most large music sites like Allmusic, etc. pretty well panned the album, and these are the same people who vote for Grammy's I imagine.

Since I can't even name another hard rock/heavy metal album released that is better I would vote for them, but I don't have a vote!

Metallica, GNR, and AC/DC were last year I believe, so they should be at least in the discussion for this year, but probably won't.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
