    I have this exact guitar that I want to relic a bit. I'm trying to yellow the pick guard a bit, but I cant figure out a good way. I've tried coffee but what do you do?

    quite simple once you got the trick.. first, sand down your pickguard with 500 grit sand paper. Once that's done, use 50 grit sand paper to rought up the sides a bit..lightly, just to get a few bigger grouves. Now, get some dark brown shoe polish, rub it all over, remove the excess. you'll see it will only stay in some grooves. NOW' get a can of tinted clear coat from reranch and do on nice coat all over the pickguard, but try to do it very lightly in the middle. let it dry overnight, and start rubbing it with a 0000 steel whool to remove some of it. logicaly, the sides gets more yellow, and less as you go toward the pups.

    Hope that helps. I do all of mine that way.

    Reranch tined clear works very well. Rit dye in yellow works very well, also.
