Default THIS IS IT (movie thread)

Saw the Michael Jackson "THIS IS IT" movie last night. IT WAS GREAT! I highly recommend it to everyone who is even a casual MJ fan. He was set to put on one heck of a show. Despite your preconcieved thoughts about his guilt or not and that he was strange, he was still a great entertainer and one that we will never see again.

was he singing live during any of it or was it all dance routines set to a pre-recorded track? If they were pre-recorded, were they the original recordings or did he re-record the songs?

I'm really interested in seeing this because that bastard was one helluva performer.
    Stay out of it, dude.

More importantly, were the bass and backing vox piped in?

I saw it lasts night also and was blown away at the band's musical ability. Those guys are freakin' PROFESSIONALS!!

VERY interesting to see the level of intensity which goes into the rehearsals. I was very impressed with the movie! Also, I'm not a huge MJ fan but I still thought it was excellent.

I'm not a fan either, but I always respected him for his talent. I would'nt mind checking this out, and yes....the musicians he surrounded himself with are top notch.

As far as I could tell, it was mostly live singing. You could tell because it wasnt always perfect and he changed the melody a bit in some songs. He also would start and stop singing. It was fantastic and I recommend everyone who is a fan to go see this.

He was simging live (atleast most of it it seems). A Revamped THRILLER did seem pre-recorded, but that girl guitar player he has is phenomonal. She did a very good job with BEAT IT, it wasn't Eddie but it was very good. They showed a preview of her upcoming album and she shreds big time and I could definately hear Eddie influences in her playing, plus she's hot too.

My nephews are 6 and 7, would it be okay to take them? Their mom is really paticular about what they are allowed to see.

Other than MJ's dance moves where he grabs his crotch its fine. It was rated PG. I took my almost 10 year old to see it.
If they like music its cool for them, the revamped "THRILLER" with the costumes and such may be a little scary, it depends on how they with that sort of thing.
