    Default Dunlop DC Brick

    Hey all,

I just got the DC Brick to power my pedal board. I have the Little Big Muff on my board, and the power input seems to have different polarity ( or whatever you call it ), and I cant seem to find any real info on if I can use this pedal with the brick. remember, its the Little Big Muff, not the full size version. If anyone knows, could you fill me in? Thanks.

    Joe

    Hey man.
I believe they have adapter extensions that reverse the polarity. I've seen sets where you buy a little bag, and it has various ones that are marked as per the diagram your effect requires. You just plug into the end, then into the effect. I have some Boss pedals that have that issue. On my old HM-2, and other distortion pedals, it was one polarity, and on their effects like delay, and chorus, they were another. I swear they just did this to sell more wallworts! I know that some have a bit of a noise filter built in, so that's justified, but to change the polarity always seemed like a cash grab to me. If someone has other insight into this....who knows. I have a question for you though....
Does yours have a provision for 18v. effects? Problem is I use a Univibe, and the real toughie is my old Morley Deluxe Flanger. It's got the old vintage style 1/8" male plug. The transformers are a real pain, and the worst part is the Morley one has got a cracked wire right at the housing of the tranny...and it's sealed.
Here's a couple pics of the effects in question.

Thanks for the info, I know they sell the things to reverse polarity, so maybe I'll try it. But if anyone knows for sure...

The brick has 3 slots for 18 v. thats the main reason i bought it, so I could run the MXR EVH flanger that's 18 V.

The hook ups for the 18 V are the standard 2.1 x 5.5 mm. So Im sure your UNI Vibe would be ok, not sure about your morely.

I use the Brick to power all my pedals, including the EVH Flanger, 18v and works great.

I am sure you can buy the adapters to reverse the polarity, yes.

I've been using the Brick for a couple of years powering all my EVH pedals (Phase, Flanger and Wah) and have had no problems.
