    Default 83 era Frankie

New member here, new post... but a long time fan of the site.
Just wanted to publicly give a big kudos to "the King" as my new 83 era Frankie arrived yesterday. I donít know if ďnewĒ is the necessarily the right word as this thing does look over 25 years old! I canít say enough about what an awesome dude Ron is for taking on this project. Going in I thought I had it all figured out but as it turns out the 83 era Frankie is Ronís favorite as well so he was able school me and get me back on the right track. In the end I could not have asked for better.

As far as playability goes Ron essentially set up the guitar such that I havenít had to touch a thing, and I can be quite picky about my set ups. I did provide Ron with my own pickup, an EVH LTD Humbucker. To say that this pickup screams is a bit of an understatement. Lots and lots of output. My initial impression is that it captures more of the 1984 tone than anything else. The old school Floyd handles really well even after the most grueling divebomb. The neck is the real surprise in that although it is a bit more chunky than I am accustomed to it is still incredibly fast. What else? Schaller tuners, correct reflectors, neck plate serial #, etc. round out all the aesthetics. Itís all there. Ron not only did an unparalleled job making the guitar look the part, but he also built a killer instrument.

Nice Job - GREAT attention to detail & killer paint work! Is that a modified mighty mite neck? If it, it looks very similar and gives me an idea...

IF your willing to discuss it...
Do you have a special technique for flattening the red coat of paint - steel wool, scotch bright pads, etc. - the flat paint looks very polished!

    You basicly gots the idea.
Just remember. Some areas are gonna shine cause of the belly and the arm. Everywhere else has to look yellowed and aged. Smooth but 'flat".
Shit you develop through the years.
    And, yep.
    Mighty Mite.

    Whoa! Beautiful Franky!

Enjoy it Ender, very cool era for the frank too!

What is out of control about about Ron's work is not only are the aesthetics jaw dropping but the setup, playability, tone,
everything is over the top exceptional. You have a very special guitar there man! Grats.
