    Default ZOOM G2 help

Anyone have good EVH settings for the Zoom G2? I've tried and can get close, but I'm not not good enough to dial it in. HELP!

I have the G-1, but it's the same sound engine, and EQ/ effects. I find you can get very close to the Sammy era tones, but not very close to the classic EVH tone. For the Sammy era, I use the Peavey model, and I use the harmonizer effect with a 2 cent lower detune, and mix it about 40 percent, and I use the pingpong delay setting, and just set it till it sounds close to whichever song I'm playing. No real science or exactness to it. The EQ is very much depended on what you're playing through, though I usually set the treble on 6, the mid on 5. The cabinet emulation is on, and Set the noise reduction on around 2. This is how I run direct into my board. The bass I left out because I found from speaker to speaker, you get cone howl depending on how hot the bass is....so just start at zero, and work your way up.
Don't know if it's much help, but like I said, it's very dependent on what you're driving with the unit.
She looks so $#@!'n good ,so sexy and so frail....Somethin's got the bite on me, I'm goin' straight to Hell.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to try it out. I found one on halen.com that was close and one on a website where people submit patches and sounded close, but I wasn't tuned a 1/2 step down when I tried it, so I'll have to try it that way. Both of the other ones were set for eruption, so I am eager to try a sammy era tone. Thanks again - Steve

Try the JCM800 and dial in the eq appropriately.

Then for other tones, the JCM800 with the "Boost" effect
in front set to the desired level. Don't forget the mic/extra eq
settings depending on what you're doing.

Remember there is more play with the eq sweep on these amp
models so pay careful attention when dialing in the 5150 model
tones - and try with pitch set to 0.
    FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!

Thnaks, that is good info. Sometimes you have so many options, you lose your way. Especially when you try to mix multi effects. There is a guy on youtube that is great with patches(no EVH yet). I've started a binder of patches, but it seems getting EVH isn't easy on a G2.
