    The Most Astounding Baseball Prediction...EVER

Normally, I'd put something like this in the "Play Ball" section, but this is far from normal. Before a game, an announcer offhandedly predicts not only a player's first major league home run, but several other details that end up being true!

You can hear both the prediction and the outcome here, or via the vid below.

Mariners Broadcaster Mike Blowers Makes Greatest MLB Prediction of All Time

    by Alex Akita

At one time or another, we’ve all made some outlandish predictions in life. If you’re a baseball fan, chances are you may have made a few more crazy prognostications than the average human being.

Trying to forecast an at-bat or a certain play can keep a slow baseball game going. So-and-so is going to hit into a double play; John Doe is going to strike out; Joe Blow will pop this one up. Stuff like that.

I’m just going to go out on a limb here and say that no one—and I mean NO ONE—has ever correctly made a baseball prediction as insane as the one Mariners color commentator Mike Blowers made on Sunday afternoon.

Blowers, the team’s former third baseman, was participating in a pregame segment called “Picks to Click” when he was asked which Mariners player would end up having a big day.

Blowers went with M’s infielder Matt Tuiasosopo, then went so far as to predict Tui’s first big league home run, the count that the home run would be hit on (3-1), the pitcher that the home run would be hit off of (Blue Jays starter Brian Tallet), the at-bat that the home run would be hit in (second), the pitch that the home run would come off of (fastball), and the location of the home run (left-center field).

Everything came true, exactly as projected by Blowers.

All of which leads me to believe that Blowers is some sort of witch, warlock, wizard, mind freak, whatever you want to call it. This is truly unbelievable.

That really made me laugh!!! What a fluke!!! That type of thing usually only works on a golf course when you tell your friend that you predict his next shot is going to go in that lake way to the left. It usually does after that.

    Mike Blowers...wow.

I remember him last as a third baseman for Oakland about ten years ago, was he not? Never knew he landed a gig in the M's booth (even though he did play 3B for them as well).

Then again, I never knew Mike Blowers was psychic either

Fun stuff. I like the commentary. Even if Dave Neihaus isn't there anymore, he makes it fun. Tuiasasopso (sp) always a big name in Seattle.

Thats awesome, i fell out when the guy said he's never been so excited about a 3-1 count before. lol

I remember Skip Caray back in the day predicting a lot of game ending plays, "how about a 6-4-3 double play to end it." Sure enough a dp.
